The Siberian Counter-offensive, December 1941. In a move that stunned Hitler and Nazi Germany, 400,000 Siberian troops forced Germany’s Sixth Army to retreat from the edges of Moscow. It was the beginning of the end for Nazi Germany. WIKICOMMONS #ww2history #siberianhistory #moscowhistory #ww2

Today marks 80 years since this historic operation... "On 6 June 1944, the largest seaborne invasion in history began.?Stalin?had been demanding the opening up of a second front in Western Europe for some time. Up to that point, most of the devastating fighting of World War Two’s European theatre had taken place in Soviet-held territories, where the?Red Army?fiercely fought against the?Wehrmacht. In May 1943, the British and Americans successfully defeated the German forces in North Africa, then turning to the?invasion of Italy?in September 1943. Less than a year later, in June 1944, the Allied powers opened up a front in France. The Normandy landings – then known as Operation Overlord and now often referred to as?D-Day?– ushered in the eventual defeat of?Hitler’s?Nazi regime. With losses on both the?Eastern Front?and now the Western Front too, the Nazi war machine could not keep up with the approaching?Allied?forces. It was one of the most pivotal military operations in history." I appreciate the service and sacrifice of that generation. They paved the way for us to have the safety and security we have here, today. Even though we have our issues, presently, imagine what our issues would be if the other side won. Please, take some time to read the article and reflect on what you have today and how these Americans sacrificed so that we could have it. On this day in 1979, the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan. In 2011, we published an occasional paper describing the evolution of the Soviet’s approach to Afghanistan during their decades long war there. The hope was that this study would inform American operations in that country when it was published halfway through the American war there. Did this book have an impact? How many of you understood how the Soviet Army operated in Afghanistan? https://lnkd.in/gUY44gBK

Super interesting Article on equality and UK attitude to its armed forces. The Times report says only 35 Women have become trained British soldiers last year? And to me it says even more about Israeli, Russian and Ukrainian Women and their attitudes towards their services. Women make up 33% of soldiers who join the IDF ???? and 51% of its currently?serving officers. Two Tanks that Repelled the Gaza Hamas attack were female led crews. Israel’s Elite units are now open to recruits, and due to the recent war many units were over subscribed with applicants by some significant numbers. As of January 2024, women constitute 7.3% of the Armed Forces of ???? Ukraine : there are more than 62 thousand women in the AFU, and 45,5 thousand of them hold military positions. Russian ???? defense minister Sergei Shoigu proudly announced that some 44,500 women were currently serving in the Russian army. He said 1,100 of them were directly involved in the "special military operation," Last year, 128 Russian female soldiers were decorated for their achievements, 24 of them for their participation in frontline combat operations. UK At 1 October 2022, 16,500 women in the military, but only 50 women have joined the infantry and 30 the Royal Armoured Corps in the last 5 years. Others: China ???? 53k women India ???? 36k women US ???? 74k women Poland ???? 9K women France ???? 34K women Germany ???? 24K women Are you ready for equality? Is your Army fighting fit? How equal really is the UK?

#Dday Another valuable lesson in marketing about the difference between facts and perception. The perception was manufactured by saving the private ryan kind of movies marketing ww2 as a western achievement, while combined their human military losses didn't exceed 1.5 million soldiers. The facts now remind us that Russia defeated the two thirds of the nazi army on the european eastern flanc losing 26 million soldiers to neutralize the nazi army. The real D-Day happened on the eastern flanc not the western one. Let alone the blatant epistemicide in the Hollywood narrative that ignores more than 400k african and arab soldiers who died on the european soil fighting the nazis (like corsica freed by the Moroccan goumiers) We remember that there are facts vs perception.

"The notion of an invincible Red Army is propaganda. The Red Army was formidable, but it was also beatable. Of its three most consequential foreign wars, the Red Army lost two. It was defeated by Poland in 1920. It defeated Nazi Germany in 1945, after nearly collapsing in 1941. (Its win in that instance was part of a larger coalition and with decisive American economic assistance.) Soviet forces were in trouble in Afghanistan immediately after their 1979 invasion and had to withdraw a decade later. And the Russian army of today is not the Red Army. Russia is not the USSR. Soviet Ukraine was a source of resources and soldiers for the Red Army. In that victory of 1945, Ukrainian soldiers in the Red Army took huge losses — greater than American, British and French losses combined. It was disproportionately Ukrainians who fought their war to Berlin in the uniform of the Red Army." From a CNN article. Save Lake Balkhash International Research Project

Many have seen the recent video of a Ukrainian soldier, wearing a Nazi SS helmet, mocking an old Russian civilian in the Kursk region, Russia. Most likely, the old Russian civilian has already been killed by these Ukrainians, and lies dead somewhere in the Russian forest.. However, the Ukrainian army is unable to seize a large territory of the Kursk region. In particular, STARLINK does not work over Russian territory, which is why the Ukrainian army does not have reliable communications. Therefore, advice to Ukraine! Recently, Germany gave Ukraine a new package of weapons. Ask Germany to include corded military telephones and cords in this package. Surely something was left in German warehouses. This will definitely work and will also give a historically right combination with the Nazi helmets worn by Ukrainian soldiers. PS. The photo shows German soldiers in Crimea, USSR, 1942.

Generals are getting ..angry. ?? General Ivan Popov was sent to Syria after rant, General Vladimir Shamanov and member of Duma is probably too old for that. Probably. "The country is at war, unfortunately not everyone realizes this. They have dressed government officials and other civilians in military uniforms. If you would undress the army, you would see what the real army looks like. Those who have been beyond the front lines know that the real army today resembles a guerrilla unit. They dress themselves with their own money, with the help of relatives, because the quality of the uniforms they are provided with is beyond any quality. And then there's this other army, dressed and tailored to perfection, and for an ordinary soldier, a service member, or a contract soldier, it’s impossible to get into the tailor shops where they are outfitted." - Russian general Vladimir Shamanov, ex Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne Troops
