Today is National Recycling Day! At ND Paper, sustainability is more than just an initiative; it’s a mission to leave the planet better than we found it. At ND Paper - Biron Facility, we are a 100% Recycled Fiber Operation! We process over 691,600,000 pounds of OCC per year. Benefits of Recycling? * Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. * Conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals. * Increases economic security by tapping a domestic source of materials. * Prevents pollution by reducing the need to mine raw materials. * Saves energy. * Supports American manufacturing and conserves valuable resources. * Creates new jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries in the United States. Find out what you can do to make a difference in our environment every day. Whether you're at home, on the go, in the office or at school, there are many opportunities to go green by reducing, reusing, and recycling. #NDPaper #recycling #NationalRecyclingDay

Environmentally friendly recycling is important for a variety of reasons, and it plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices and mitigating environmental impacts. Recycling reduces the demand for new raw materials by repurposing and reusing existing ones. This helps conserve finite natural resources, such as minerals, timber, and water. Recycling often requires less energy than extracting and processing raw materials. Using recycled materials in manufacturing processes can lead to significant energy savings and a reduced carbon footprint. ?? 828-635-8400 ?? Recycling is a way for us all to help protect our natural resources and advance circular economy. ?? At Paulig our goals are that ?? By the end of 2025, 100% of our packaging will be recyclable ?? By the end of 2030, 100% of our packaging will be recyclable and made from renewable or recycled materials. We are proud to be progressing towards our goal, and today 86% of our packaging is recyclable. However, the entire value chain, including packaging material producers, packaging manufacturers, food producers and recyclers, must collaborate to improve the recyclability of packaging. Let’s together keep making an impact by sorting all packaging materials! #GlobalRecyclingDay?#recycling?#recyclablepackaging?#sustainability

Happy World Recycling Day ???? Here I’m recently at a recycling centre for single-stream commingled recyclable waste sorting. The amount of work and processing that has to go in to separating it all is quite astounding… as you can see! Observing all of this on the inside really drives home the message as to why recycling by segregation at source is the best way forwards… if only we as consumers have the discipline to do it. Of course, the separate collection streams need to be in place to support it, but how much does the habits of the end/user of packaging play a part in this? The worst thing is that the only truly 100% recyclable material of glass proves to be the hardest to separate out with the current sorting technology. Support the smarter recycling approach whenever and wherever you can!

An overwhelming amount of valuable materials end up in landfills across the #GreatLakes region,?in part due to outdated and inefficient resource recovery systems. Similar to national figures in the U.S. and Canada, only about 18% of plastics are being recycled in the region. Increasing our plastics recovery and recycling rates is a critical component of achieving a #circulareconomy and is the focus of CGLR's Circular Great Lakes strategy and action plan. This #GlobalRecyclingDay, take time to learn more about Circular Great Lakes and how you can get involved:?https://lnkd.in/dUpkCCT

On #NationalRecyclingDay, let’s reaffirm our promise to a cleaner, more sustainable future. Recycling isn’t just a chore—it’s a meaningful way to reduce waste and preserve resources for generations to come. Did you know that more the 230,000 pounds of agriculture plastics have been recycled since 1992? Every item we recycle makes a difference, helping to protect our planet. Let’s keep pushing for a greener world, where every effort, big or small, creates lasting change.???? ? 【Challenges in PE Recycling】 Despite the challenges, about 30% of all PE waste is currently recycled, a number that continues to grow with better technology! PE recycling faces several challenges, including contamination of waste plastic and the need for efficient sorting and cleaning processes. Developing better recycling technologies and increasing public awareness about proper waste disposal are crucial for overcoming these challenges and improving the recycling rate of PE. But all the scrap we handle is from PIR, and we recycle what people are not using yet. We offer pellets that have been re-pelletized and are free of any mixture or contamination.
