Exit Maersk / Enter Nilfisk I’m excited to share that I’m joining the Global Customer Insights team at Nilfisk. “What the heck is Nilfisk?”, some have asked me the past month as I told them about my next move. Or “I’m sure it’s an exciting opportunity since you’ve accepted it”, said with a hint of question mark at the end. Ok, let’s get the facts right, then the reason why this role feels just right. ? Nilfisk is a leading company within professional cleaning equipment. It’s a Danish company, with an international culture and a broad global presence (first ? ). ? Then: ? I’ll be joining a small team with big ambitions. The company is at an exciting point, more eager than ever to build products and experiences that actually fit into the worlds of their users (think Tetris, it’s all about spotting the relevant empty slots instead of forcing your T-shaped block into a square-spaced free spot - thanks Jimmy Ege Pedersen for that analogy) ? The chance to turn insights into action faster than I’ve been used to, thanks to a short distance between the insights team and the product and customer experience teams ? A physical product you can actually see in action. And where there’s an opportunity to make users’ work lives easier and less physically straining. ? The fact that my new team buys into my broader skillset (back to making work cross paths with words) ? And oh, I really look forward to also do some onsite fieldwork after a bit of an overdose on virtual user interviews the past couple of years. “You’ll get to see places like the ‘Glostrup of Paris’”, my new boss Martin Troelsgaard laughingly said when we talked about fieldwork (those of you in Denmark will understand that this is not exactly a positive thing). ? Here’s my POV: nothing beats being out there with the people who actually use the product and see how the product fits (or doesn’t) into the users’ lives. And as for the Glostrup of Paris: It’s all about being appreciative of the quirky sides of life. ? Finally, thanks to all the people who have offered their support, network, and perspective these past couple of months. You made a difference.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting some of our great customers and spending the day in trade together with our regional On Trade team ???? In my role, I value these direct talks with our customers, as they always provide important insights, feedback and a lot of fun. Some reflections and highlights from today: 1. Asking our customers is a direct source of insights about consumer behavior, selection of brands, and indicators of new growth opportunities 2. Observing execution of brands in outlets give inspiration from within our own category and outside category. New initiatives constantly being tested, and customers to share feedback 3. Distribution building of our new innovations is in our DNA, and today we did exactly that which gave great insights in to how to continuously improve and accelerate 4. Having fun doing it. We're thrilled to announce that our team, consisting of myself and Mridul Mittal, achieved a top-10 position in the 'RESURGENCE' case study competition hosted by E-Cell Miranda House. Out of 700 teams from colleges and universities nationwide, we're honored to have secured this prestigious recognition. Our case study focused on revitalizing Nestle's financial performance during the challenging market conditions of the 1940s, a period marked by the economic turmoil of World War II. Our approach was twofold: deeply analytical and highly practical. We meticulously analyzed historical data and market trends to understand the unique challenges faced by Nestle during that era. Drawing on this analysis, we developed three innovative strategies aimed at improving financial performance and increasing profitability. These strategies were not only theoretically sound but also backed by practical applications that could be implemented in real-world scenarios. Participating in this competition has been a tremendous learning experience for us. It has not only sharpened our analytical and problem-solving skills but has also taught us the importance of innovative thinking and effective teamwork. This achievement is a testament to our dedication, hard work, and passion for excellence.
