“Research Walls just look cool, right?” . . At first, I wasn’t sold on them, either. When I used it in my Industrial Design days, it felt like just a big mood board. Great for keeping primarily research images visible and inspiring. But after using it in Service Design at SDSI, I get it now. Here’s why it works: ?? Everything in one place: Notes, quotes, themes— makes it harder to forget something ?? Instant connections: It sparks new ideas. A quick walk-by often leads to, “What if we connect this with that?” ?? Better conversations: It creates a visual space for discussions, helping the team get on the same page faster. The first time we tried it, I wasn’t impressed. But the second time after a workshop? It clicked. Now it’s becoming a core part of how I work. Who else has tried Research Walls? Does it work for you? #ServiceDesign #DesignResearch #SDSI

Reading subject specific books is useful for understanding practical application of design. This book "how design strategies are shaping the future of business a fine line" by Hartmut Esslinger, Frog design is a treasure trove of design examples that have made design desicions based on process oriented approach for new products. I got to learn about ELF Rating System which is measurement based on a product's environmental impact. Sharing some other important books in reading list for learning about design in the link link: https://lnkd.in/gfN6DWPC

Visual elements.. One of the most interesting things that i saw Jeanne M. Lambin do in “The Quest” workshop was to lay on the table not only the agenda and the contents of the workshop, but also fragments and ideas that influenced the building of the workshop. That made me open up a discussion with Jeanne and we discovered several reasons for using these visual elements in the workshop room: - it is interesting to make visible the process behind - to steer curiosity for other ideas connected with the workshop - it help on the credibility because it shows the work behind - it can generate interest and open up discussions? - it can be seen also as a Museum of ideas, that participants can visit in the breaks? - it shows that your workshop has behind so many people works that contributed to it - it is like web or roots of the course that happens now. What do you think about this idea of visually showing what’s behind your workshop design?

Steve Jobs teaches us a valuable lesson about design. It's not just about the surface beauty or the first impression it makes. True design delves deeper, focusing on how effectively it serves its purpose and solves problems. #design?#stevejobs?#webdesign
