The Williams School is A Launchpad to Excellence: Where All Paths Begin
Foundations of literacy, numeracy, independence, self-direction, task commitment, intellectual stamina, and socialization are found in preschool through first grade. Since the beginnings of education are in these early levels, the importance of selecting strong programs where students are challenged, engaged, and supported is not to be minimized. Choose well.
The good news for parents/guardians is that there are many choices for early education programming. The bad news is that finding the right fit for your child is not easy. Consider the challenge:
Will the preschool program support my child’s developmental needs or focus solely on academics?
Will the preschool program be rigorous, engaging, and supportive in equal measure building my child’s confidence and social skills or will they be focused on Kindergarten prep?
Where do I find a preschool that will have consistent, trained, and loving teachers and support staff that will help me and my child transition to a learning environment?
Where do I find a preschool that aligns philosophically with the Kindergarten and then first through 8th grade levels?
Where do I find a Kindergarten that provides the next level of academic rigor, but maintains the necessary unstructured play, language and number sense development that my child begins in preschool?
Will my child develop social skills, self-regulation skills, attitudes, and dispositions that propel them to success in elementary, middle, high school and beyond?
