Yay!!! ?? I just completed the BCG Data Science & Advanced Analytics Virtual Internship Experience Program. In this program, I successfully utilized the Random Forest model to predict customers likely to churn, enabling me to proactively address potential losses. Additionally, I developed and recommended impactful discount and pricing strategies aimed at enhancing customer retention. Since 2013, veteran employment in the solar and storage industry has grown 63% from 13,192 veterans to 21,533 veterans in 2022. Apprenticeships for these veterans go a step further and incorporate structured, field-specific training that occurs over an extended period of time, helping to offer stability and a clear career path into the future. SMEs, listen up! ?? From the start of April 2024, the government will increase the amount of funding that employers who are paying the apprenticeship levy can pass on to other businesses. Apprenticeships can currently be funded by a levy-paying employer transferring up to 25% of their unused levy to a different employer. The government has also announced an additional ￡60m of new government funding to fully fund apprenticeships in small businesses from 1 April 2024 by paying the full cost of training for anyone up to the age of 21 years. This will remove the need for small employers to meet some of the cost of training and save time and costs for providers like further education colleges who currently need to source funding separately from the government and businesses. Finding and retaining a workforce large enough to meet energy industry targets and fulfill opportunity is a huge challenge, Paul Hubbard, of Bilfinger UK told Offshore Energies UK’s roadshow. It is difficult to keep its highly-skilled ambitious technicians in the UK. “Offshore wind is a global business. There is opportunity for techs to travel around the world. How do we make sure people stay in the UK when there is this opportunity? “We have seen it in Taiwan, the US and the APEC regions. It is a global business and we need to be looking at how to keep people in the UK given the targets it has.” As turbines become more complex, more training was needed. Bilfinger UK is multi-skilling its technicians ready for this market place to make them rounded individuals to make them competitive and investing in the future by commuting to 400 apprenticeships, he said. #offshoreenergy #skills #energyworkforce #training OrbisEnergy
