Case Study: How We Helped a Leading FMCG Company Hire Their New Chief Supply Chain Officer. When a top FMCG company couldn't find their new Chief Supply Chain Officer, they tried everything—direct recruitment, working with agencies, and even a major executive search firm. Nothing worked. It was crucial to fill the position quickly, so they reached out to us. In our consultation with their HR team and CEO, we realized the issue: the people handling the hiring didn’t understand the nuances of the role. As a result, they were considering candidates who lacked the necessary knowledge and experience to streamline the company’s supply chain by cutting costs and boosting efficiency. This role was special. It was the first time the supply chain leader would have a board position, requiring both strategic insight and hands-on expertise. Finding someone who could operate at the board level while also being willing to walk the floor and see where processes added value was challenging. Many supply chain leaders excel at hands-on work, but strategic board roles are still fairly rare. To find the right candidate, we needed a targeted approach. We used our extensive networks, deep sector knowledge, and understanding of the role’s challenges. This allowed us to identify and attract the right leader quickly. The result? We found the perfect Chief Supply Chain Officer, who has been thriving in the role for the past two years. The company’s supply chain is now more efficient and cost-effective than ever. A true success story! This is a great example from a project that was led by one of our leaders in a previous role. We took note of his experience, we broke down the actions that were taken during the search project, to understand the positives and the negatives, with the goal of identifying which actions were adding value to both the client and the candidates, and then removing any steps that were not beneficial to accelerating the search. As a result we were able to further fine tune the process to create the marketing leading talent acquisition solutions that what we provide today at the Supply Chain Talent Alliance. Our ability to successfully hire these roles is based on our knowledge and networks in the sector, built over 20 years. As a Recruiter with 9+ years dedicated to Food and Beverage Manufacturing, I’ve witnessed that while technical aptitude and industry expertise are important, it’s the soft skills that land the job. The top 4 things I see companies asking for TODAY in 2024 are: 1. Ability to Connect with others 2. Effective Communicator 3. Company Advocate (within their company, in their community, and on Social Media) 4.
