Exciting times. In the world of software development teams have been able to test deployments and changes in a myriad of ways. The testing of changes to Voice services is a bit janky though. It usually involves manually calling the most important numbers, maybe running some limited code testing, but rarely covers the broader service estate. This leads to a very realistic and high chance of impacted services going unnoticed. From personal experience, this can be quite serious... Especially in regulated industries like healthcare and finance. Tools currently in the market aren't structured to provide the concurrency to automate hundreds of tests within the bounds of a change window, usually limited by telephony capacity. If it takes ~5 minutes to test each journey and you have a limit of five concurrent running tests, but you need to test 200 journeys after a change, it's going to take 200+ mins accounting for test set up and tear down. Last time I checked, the percentage of time devoted to regression, wouldn't have allowed for this. However, as regulations become more focussed on the customer/user, organisations will need to prove they have tested and voice isn't going any time soon. “Exclusive” feature currently in preview from sister team. Fine-tuning Anthropic Claude 3 Haiku in Amazon Bedrock doable now. What is Fine-tuning? Fine-tuning is?a machine learning technique that involves making small adjustments to a pre-trained model to improve its performance on a specific task.?It's a fundamental technique in deep learning, especially for training foundation models used for generative AI. What does it provide? From performance benchmarks, FT is able to make task-specific accuracy from 81.5% to 99.6% and reduced tokens per query by 89%. It means a higher quality model at a lower cost.
