Food trucks are a critical component of downtown Detroit’s lunch ecosystem. What if they were suddenly powered by clean hydrogen? We went to Cadillac Square to check out the future of clean energy. Both NextEnergy and Michigan Clean Cities were represented as we visited with our friends from the Office of Mobility Innovation at The City of Detroit and the Downtown Detroit Partnership. The future of clean energy looks bright!

This week the Michigan Clean Cities team was in Jackson, MI to celebrate their new fleet of electric school buses. Partners from the It’s Electric coalition were in attendance including US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 5, Clean Fuels Michigan, and Highland Electric Fleets. We were delighted to host an international delegation at the Detroit Smart Parking Lab as The Battery Show kicked off in Detroit! Hundreds of attendees will be in Detroit this week for North America’s premier advanced battery event. We are proud to showcase the innovation and excitement that makes Michigan a leader in EV technology!

Many of today's EV charging stations sit alone in a parking lot. Or, you might find them off in the corner of a gas station lot. As more people move to EVs, however, the EV charging station landscape will change. In a new feature looking at what's next for charging station, experts speculate everything from replacing gas stations to creating massive, amenity-rich locales similar to an airport lounge. If you have not yet followed Michigan Clean Cities, be sure to check out all the amazing things happening over there! Some recent highlights: - The Michigan Clean Cities team joined Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II at the opening of the Affordable Mobility Platform (AMP) at River Crest in Detroit. - They hosted a listening session at Dreamtroit, meeting with residents about their transit concerns. - The 2024 Clean Cities and Communities Training Workshop in St. Paul, MN featured partner programs sharing their experiences promoting clean and alternative fuels, plus we got to see a fully electric fire truck. - And just last week, the team attended the Forth Roadmap Conference where they participated in workgroups to develop strategies for improving clean transportation options.

The article gives a brief history of the business, including some major milestones: - Receiving a $30,000 Michigan Mobility Funding Platform grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation - Joining the Detroit Smart Parking Lab to test its Flashbots EV charging robots - Piloting its technology at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids (announced Tuesday) The DSPL, in particular, has boosted IonDynamics' brand awareness. “We're getting such international visibility now at a site like the Detroit Smart Parking Lab, and it's yielding conversations and opportunities all over the United States and also in Europe as well," said Josh Bitterman, co-founder and vice president of business development.
