How the CFM56 (on A320 & 737) Came From the B-1 Bomber's Engine; the powerplant of the B-1, is the GE F101. The engine core used by GE & Safran (CFM) as the base for the CFM56. The F101 design was also used as a basis for the F110 engine, used in the; F-14, F-15 & F-16. Essentialy, the CFM56 is the F101 engine's core + a high-bypass fan on front (no afterburner on the back, of course)... something to think about, next time we go flying... Piper Aircraft sustained solid new aircraft deliveries and revenue performance throughout the first half of 2024. Reflecting a strong global demand, Piper is on track to deliver approximately 300 aircraft this year, a 22% increase from the previous year. Deliveries in the first half of 2024 increased by 16% compared to the same period in 2023. Despite a marginal dip in Q1 2024, attributable to the launch and late Q1 FAA certification of Piper’s new flagship M700 FURY, the second quarter saw deliveries rise by 30% and revenue by nearly 9%.
