NEW Graduate Yakara (pictured above holding tape measurer) recently landed an apprenticeship with Union Local 157 Carpenters! Yakara was overjoyed and relieved, as it has been a long journey to reach this milestone. She expressed her gratitude for NEW as our instructors and staff provided her with the supportive services, curriculum, and tools needed to succeed in the trades. She said, "NEW prepared me for everything–when I got into NEW, I stopped being late and found a network of people who wanted me to succeed. I found a family."
