“How can we be more thoughtful when it comes to developing in higher density areas?" "What’s really best for the community?” These are some of the impeding questions constantly circulating in my corner of the world as an infill developer in the ever-exploding Northwest Arkansas region.? This past summer, I had the honor of joining my good friend Michael Rusch on his podcast, the underview. Mike was gracious in sharing his platform with me with the mission of speaking to our work at Newell Development and the impact of the current development climate particularly in Bentonville, Arkansas. The unfortunate reality? We are running out of room to develop in Bentonville. I believe more people want communities where they can experience quality living right from their front porch. The places people want to live are all about a great location with access to amenities and jobs. These are often close to the city core. The exciting reality? There's still room for growth within the core! My hope for NWA is that we can figure it out now and find a way to grow in the core before we start sprawling out east and west. I could talk about this for days, so I’ll stop here for now and encourage you to listen to our conversation at https://lnkd.in/emthmQjp Thank you again Mike for facilitating such important topics through the underview and giving me space to speak to topics that matter so much to me personally and professionally. ___ Stay connected and follow along on social media to new podcast episode drops @underviewthe.
