Canada to New Zealand: Workplace Culture Shock ?? Embarking on a professional journey from Canada to New Zealand has been an exhilarating adventure, not only in terms of the breathtaking landscapes but also in navigating the nuances of workplace culture. I wanted to share the unique aspects of Kiwi work life. Work-Life Blend: A Kiwi Way of Living ?? Work-life balance in New Zealand is like a whole new ball game! ?? The Kiwi lifestyle is all about soaking in those beautiful surroundings and making quality time for the fam. And get this – flexible work arrangements aren't just a cool perk; they're woven into the Kiwi cultural threads. It's like they've mastered the art of chill and hustle simultaneously. Hierarchical Structures vs. Collaborative Dynamics ?? let's talk office vibes. Transitioning from the typical hierarchy to a more collaborative setup is seriously a breath of fresh air. The whole "open-door policy" thing? It's not just a saying. Ideas bounce around like ping pong balls, and everyone's input is gold. It's like being part of a brainstorming party where every voice gets a turn on the mic. Team Spirit: The Power of "We" Over "I" ?? Kiwi workplaces are all about the power of "We" over "I". ?? Team spirit is the secret sauce. Projects are like potluck dinners; everyone brings something to the table. There's this collective responsibility vibe that makes you feel like you're part of a work family with shared goals. As I navigate this Kiwi work adventure, it's clear – the workplace culture shock is real, but it's the good kind of shock. Mixing the Canadian warmth with Kiwi hospitality has created a unique blend that makes work feel like, well, anything but work. #WorkLifeDownUnder #KiwiWorkLife #OfficeCultureShock #WorkLifeBlend #FlexibilityInNZ #CulturalShift #CanadianAbroad #GlobalWorkExperience #WorkAbroadLife #CanadianInNZ #CulturalExchange #WorkLifeBalanceNZ #OfficeAdventures #InternationalWorkExperience #KiwiProfessionalLife #workingholiday #workingholidayvisa #workingabroad #newzealandimmigration

Foreign Employers fail to understand the Scandinavien mindset when Recruiting. - we are not impressed by your free coffee. if you don't have free coffee it's hardly an office. - Clean and ergonomic offices is a must! if you fail to provide this, we will leave. - Management Culture: Failing to propper communicate and include your Scandinavian workforce in company event planning or continues improvement. These are just a few things I have experienced over the years as an expat. What other #lessions needs to be added? #Nordics #milj? #expat #JobbiSpania

Greece has taken the lead in Europe by introducing a six-day work week for certain businesses, diverging from the trend towards shorter four-day work weeks. The goal is to enhance productivity and tackle challenges such as population decline and shortages of skilled workers. Critics, including labor unions, are concerned that inadequate labor inspections in Greece could lead to worker exploitation under this law. As Greece ventures into this new territory, the global community is closely observing to see whether this unconventional approach will bring about economic revitalization.

???????? Working from Vienna vs working from Yerevan Vienna has become a 2nd home to me, and I’ve spent quite a bit of time here. Every visit reaffirms why this city is a unique place to work. Here are some key aspects I’ve noticed about the work culture in Vienna: ? Punctuality: Being on time is essential and reflects professionalism. In Armenia, being 5-10 minutes late is quite normal. In Vienna, however, there’s no way you can get away with that! Meetings start promptly, and everyone expects you to be there on the dot. ? Work-Life Balance: Almost everything shuts down at 8 PM, and even earlier at 7 PM on weekends. This was the most unusual thing for me to adjust to! In Yerevan, I’m used to working 12-14 hour days, and everyone supports that hustle. But here, if you send an email after working hours, it will stay unanswered until the next day. It’s strange and not quite my style yet. When I’m in Vienna, I miss the lively, late-night working hours from Yerevan’s coffeeshops. ? Teamwork and Collaboration: While roles are well-defined, there’s a collaborative spirit that encourages team bonding and collective success. This part is totally the same as in Armenia. ? Early Starts: Life in Vienna often starts at 6am. People engage in sports or exercise as early as 5 AM, enjoy a slow coffee and breakfast, and then head to work. By 11am, much of the day’s work is already accomplished. In Armenia, people usually start around 9-10am, though we came to 8am-5pm schedule at Magnus HR, but still. ?? Have you worked in Vienna or another city in Austria? What are your thoughts? For my Armenian friends and colleagues, what do you think would be the biggest challenge for Armenians from Armenia in adapting to Vienna’s work culture? For me that's starting early, imagine me calmly waking up at 10am and realizing I’m late from life! ?? #Vienna #WorkCulture #Austria #Yerevan #WorkLifeBalance #Armenia

The heavy rain in Malta over the past two days has caused significant traffic disruptions. When you add the Sigma conference into the mix, getting around has become even more challenging. If your employer or manager doesn’t offer the option to work remotely during situations like this, it suggests they're more focused on their own efficiency rather than the overall well-being and productivity of their team. If environmental and climate considerations are part of your company's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives, it’s worth questioning their commitment to these values when they don’t support flexible work arrangements. Moreover, if your employer is quick to send everyone home when there are office-related issues but fails to consider remote work when it directly benefits the employees, that's a red flag. It shows a lack of genuine concern for employee needs and work-life balance.
