ETHEREUM LAYER-2, BLAST TO LAUNCH AIRDROP ON JUNE 26: WHAT WE KNOW - Blast, a rising Ethereum layer-2 scaling network founded by the creator of NFT marketplace Blur, has announced the launch date for its BLAST token airdrop: June 26. “We know this is past our initial estimate of May and we’re sorry for the delay,” The Blast team stated. “The airdrop allocation will be increased to account for this.” - According to Blast, two more distributions of Blast Gold points will occur before the token launch. - Blast Gold points are awarded to creators of decentralized apps (dapps) on the network. These points can be distributed to users by the dapp creators. ?? Bringing Onchain to Everywhere on the Internet Yesterday, Solana Foundation introduced Actions and Blinks, a feature that allows users to transact onchain anywhere online. I wrote about Farcaster Frames a couple of months ago, and feel like this is a 'building on the shoulders of giants' moment. Solana: We see you Frames, and raise you ?? ?? What do you need to know with Frames? - 'Actions' was initially a payment use case, and now expands to other actions such as minting, swapping, voting and more - Blinks (blockchain links) turn Actions into shareable, rich links. Clients (those who create 'Actions') can add a bunch of capabilities for users to interact with. - Actions and blinks can be distributed through a variety of forms: link, QR code, push notifications etc ?? What's my take on this? Less clicks = less friction = = higher likelihood to take action or engage - Projects can launch their mint across marketplaces (OpenSea, Magic Eden etc) AND messaging platforms like Telegram or Discord. - New entrants to web3 will have their first onchain onboarding experience with a simple friendly tutorial and easier UX, abstracting away a lot of web3 jargon - Could it lead to more scams?
