Today, the article “Family Businesses and Business Families in Cultural Context: Interdisciplinary Updates for Family Business Research” by Dr. Tobias Koellner and Prof. Dr. Steffen Roth has been accepted by Cross Cultural & Strategic Management journal. In this article, a new approach to culture is developed based on inbound theorizing from the social sciences. Gabelli marketing students work with McCann Worldgroup: Timothy de Waal Malefyt, Clinical Professor of Marketing and his Undergraduate Business Anthropology in Global Context class partnered with McCann World Group executives and researchers on two levels. First, students in teams used?qualitative approaches?to?discover?"brand love" among?Gen Z consumers; Second,?students individually participated in two "Youth Culture Focus Groups" at McCann WorldGroup headquarters. Summary Sunday. And another good book. ???? What can we learn from traditional societies that exist even today? Diamond has been working deeply with a few such societies over the past 60 years & this is based on his experience. He does not shower praise on the “noble savage”. He clearly highlights the disadvantages of life in traditional societies. That said, he also points out some positive aspects that people who live the modern western lifestyle can learn from. Some of the aspects that Diamond introduces that are especially interesting are the principle of constructive paranoia, and the contribution of emotional aspects to conflict resolution.
