This week we joined Wells Fargo in celebration?? of their $400,000 FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund award to Beyond Shelter, Inc. The grant will help Beyond Shelter address the #affordablehousing needs in North Dakota by providing working capital to sustain predevelopment activities associated with the development of affordable housing, such as acquisition of real estate property and land, costs of surveys to identify the property to be acquired, appraisals, the preparation of legal documents, recordation fees, and other costs that are necessary to acquire properties and cover holding costs. FHLB Des Moines Board Chair Karl Bollingberg provided remarks during the event alongside Senator Kevin Cramer, representatives from Senator John Hoeven and Representative Kelly Armstrong, Fargo Mayor Timothy Mahoney, Beyond Shelter CEO Dan Madler, Wells Fargo Senior Manager, Community Relations Patty Pannkuk, North Dakota Housing Finance Agency Executive Director Dave Flohr, and residents of the Milton Earl Apartments. The event took place in Fargo, North Dakota, at The Milton Earl apartments, a 42-unit senior living complex developed by Beyond Shelter. The property provides affordable housing to low and moderate income individuals 62 and older.
