This is what HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences is about: collaboration, exploration, respect for each other, and fun. Health science divisions need to build up interprofessional activities among all our professions. Starting these activities from the onset of our students’ training, will allow for students to respect each others chosen profession and understand that they WILL work together once out in the field. Because ultimately, the end goal is positive patient outcomes. We achieve this by working together as a collaborative healthcare team. We need to break silos between our occupations and build bridges instead. Thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Ho for starting this much-needed initiative. These incredible UCLA graduate students are proposing innovative, community-centered solutions to advance health equity for historically marginalized populations. From improving health literacy for farmworkers and creating autism-friendly emergency departments to retrofitting neighborhood playgrounds with wheelchair-accessible playgrounds, their ideas tackle some of the most pressing health disparities in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. To help students on their path to the healthcare field, we announced a first-of-its-kind initiative that pairs public education systems with hospitals to create innovative high schools. ???? These schools will graduate students directly into high-demand healthcare jobs with family-sustaining wages. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center unveiled a new name for a decades-old program recently. The Nadine and Tom Craddick Physician Assistant Studies Program honors Rep. Tom Craddick and his wife Nadine, who have been instrumental in starting and maintaining the program. During the 86th legislative session in 2019, Craddick helped secure $20 million in state funding that enabled the TTUHSC School of Health Professions Physician Assistant Studies Program to undertake a $30 million expansion completed in 2022. TTHSC President Lori Rice-Spearman, Ph.D., said these state-of-the-art spaces ensure the university is equipped to train the next generation of physician assistants in West Texas.

The CT Public Health Fellowship Program offers experiential learning opportunities with public health agencies for students across Connecticut.
