For those who don't know, Scott Pirrello and his team at the San Diego County District Attorney's Office run the Elder Justice Task Force (EJTF) dedicated to identifying, investigating, and disrupting scam networks that target older adults locally in San Diego. Senior Tech Connect. This work is extremely important, especially given the influx of new tactics and cyber scams - so much so that we stream the '60 Minutes' episode featuring the EJTF San Diego whenever we present on Top Senior Scams. Senior Tech Connect is looking forward to collaborating with Scott's team to provide #Cybersecurity workshops and other resources to help older adults (especially those vulnerable to cyber crime) throughout #SanDiego County over the next few months. It's an organization committed to guiding students in 6th through 12th grade towards college readiness, but also preparing future educators in hopes that more kids can have teachers who have similar backgrounds and experiences to them. A few stats to back it up: ?? During 2023 - 2024, we created a community where 560 students felt supported, seen, and valued. We are now making an even bigger impact serving 657 students- 17% growth! ?? 100% of the Class of 2024 students who applied were accepted to college.? ?? The average annual scholarship awarded to a 2024 BTC graduate was $44,818.? ?? 70% of the 2024 Teaching Fellow cohort identified as people of color, providing role models that students truly see themselves in– sometimes for the very first time in a classroom.? ?? 98% of those Teaching Fellows report growth as a teacher.
