Interesting to read the proposed definition of #GreyBelt in the consultation on the #NPPF. We will be in for an interesting time arguing about the purposes of land being in the #GreenBelt. #planning Grey belt: For the purposes of Plan-making and decision-making, grey belt is defined as land in the Green Belt comprising Previously Developed Land and any other parcels and/or areas of Green Belt land that make a limited contribution to the five Green Belt purposes (as defined in para 140 of this Framework) but excluding those areas or assets of particular importance listed in footnote 7 of this Framework (other than land designated as Green Belt). https://lnkd.in/gTtHe9zM

This week, the Port of Coos Bay was awarded a $29 million federal CRISI grant to invest in vital upgrades to the Coos Bay Rail Line. This funding will drive enhancements in safety, efficiency, and sustainability, helping us build a robust ship-to-rail connection that directly supports businesses across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Following last week's $25 million INFRA grant, these dual federal investments of $54 million represent an unprecedented downpayment in the future of Oregon's South Coast. The Pacific Coast Intermodal Port project will create local jobs, improve supply chain reliability and bolster economic growth while preserving the state's commitment to environmental responsibility. This news article is about the #LOSSAN #Rail Relocation Project in #SanDiego County. Here are the key points I've gathered: 1. The project aims to relocate the rail tracks off the eroding #DelMar bluffs to improve safety and efficiency. 2. #SANDAG has released a "Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report," marking the start of an 18-month environmental review process. 3. Three alignment options are being considered, all involving tunnels due to the steep grade in Del Mar. 4. The public can provide input on the project through July 19, 2024, and attend a meeting on June 18, 2024, for more information. 5. The environmental process is expected to be complete by the end of 2025, with the design-build phase beginning in 2026 and completion slated for 2035. 6. The LOSSAN rail corridor is crucial for both passenger and freight transportation, with 3.7 million daily users and over $1 billion in goods transported annually. 7. The project has received significant funding from state and federal grants to support the construction of new tracks, a special events platform, and the replacement of the San Dieguito Lagoon rail bridge. This project appears to be a significant undertaking that will address long-standing safety and operational issues along the LOSSAN rail corridor. The public input process and environmental review will be critical in determining the best alignment option and minimizing the project's impact on the community and environment.

?? Exciting Infrastructure Update! ?? The $3.6B Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project, connecting Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, has cleared federal environmental review. This transformative project will reduce congestion by adding a new bridge and upgrading existing infrastructure. The approval of the $3.6B Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project is a significant win for infrastructure and regional connectivity. Here's why this is good news: Reduced Congestion: A new bridge and upgraded infrastructure will alleviate traffic on the heavily overburdened Brent Spence Bridge. Enhanced Safety: Improved traffic flow and reconfigured routes will reduce the risk of accidents. Economic Boost: The project will create jobs and support economic growth in the region. On a sunny day, we received some long-awaited and exciting news at the Port of Roenne! I'm thrilled to announce that we have officially received approval for the plan and environmental framework for stage 4 of our development project. As the Chief Commercial Officer for the Port of Roenne, I know this milestone marks a significant moment for us. It's crucial for Bornholm's development and the modernization of the port, enabling us to accommodate modern vessels and large projects to the benefit of the island. This approval comes after the municipal council gave the green light for our ambitious plans on Tuesday, March 19th, marking another step forward in securing the future of our beloved port. The Port of Roenne holds a special place as Bornholm's commercial port, playing a crucial role in the island's growth and prosperity. With each stage of our development, we're not just building infrastructure; we're creating opportunities, enhancing efficiency, and bolstering our island community. We're also generating direct and indirect job opportunities through our five business areas: Ferries, Cruise, Offshore Wind, Bulk, and port infrastructure rentals. Let's take a closer look at our expansion journey so far: ? Stage 1: Completed in 2019, this phase involved constructing a new harbor section south of the original harbor, a new outer pier, new land and quay areas, and dredging of harbor basins. ? Stage 2: Including Gall?kken, completed at the turn of 2022/2023, expanded quay area and associated hinterland to meet the increasing demand for quays and areas capable of handling heavy loads, along with an extension of the new outer pier. ? Stage 3: Expected to be completed by the end of 2024, involves establishing additional land area and a new quay in the area around the former fishing basin in the South Harbor. ? Stage 4: Symbolizing the development of a modern and up-to-date port. This expansion involves significant changes, encapsulating the desire for a better and safer port, creating new quay area, and contributing to the desired functional division of port activities. What does this mean for Bornholm? It's more than just a construction project; it's about added value and revenue streams for our island. By enhancing our capabilities, we're attracting more business, facilitating trade, and contributing to economic growth. It's a win-win for everyone involved. I'm incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the support from our partners and stakeholders. Together, we're shaping a brighter future for the Port of Roenne and the entire Bornholm community. ------------------------------ ?? I am Jeppe. ? ? Chief Commercial Officer, Port of Roenne ? ??
