As part of commemorations to mark the 120th anniversary of the college’s opening, the 8 Vahana Officer Training Boats used by Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth to teach cadets basic seamanship are to be named after seabirds: Cormorant, Guillemot, Razorbill, Kittiwake, Fulmar, Skua, Gannet and Tern. The college has also selected a new motto: "Lead with Courage". Of course what the college really needs is funding to repair its grand but dilapidated buildings and update facilities to be appropriate for the 21st Century. The former BRNC static training ship Hindostan (Ex-HMS Cromer) is now laid up in Portsmouth because there is no money to repair the berth at Sandquay.

3 天前I’m not sure about the bird names - where’s shitehawk? Just asking. BRNC needs investment, it’s an amazing place with fantastic river/sea based training access. It needs investment now - or relocate?
