What Do Software Engineers Think About AI Replacing Their Jobs? #AI #SoftwareDevelopment #EngineeringOpinions #TechCommunity Hey everyone! So, just yesterday, I came across Mark Zuckerberg’s bold prediction that AI will soon be capable of taking on the role of mid-level software engineers, especially in terms of writing code. I must admit, I'm a bit skeptical. My experience with various large language models (LLMs) tells me that we're not quite at that level yet! ?? It got me thinking: why do we keep hearing these claims from CEOs and marketers who may not have a strong footing in the software development world? Often, it seems those touting AI as a "developer replacement" are out of touch with the day-to-day challenges and intricacies of coding. But what do the actual engineers think? ??♂? I’m really curious to know what seasoned developers—those who are knee-deep in code—feel about this situation. Are there insightful perspectives from senior or mid-level engineers about AI’s current capabilities and its future role in software de... Answers:? https://lnkd.in/g3XzMFBG Let's Connect!

My mom asked me a great question today: “Is AI going to take over software engineers’ jobs?” ?? As someone in the tech field, it made me pause and think about the future of programming. With the rapid advancements in AI, tools like code generation, debugging assistants, and even AI-driven development platforms are becoming more common. So, could these technologies replace software engineers? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Will AI take over the role of software engineers, or do you think there will always be a need for human creativity and problem-solving in code? Let me know what you think in the comments! #AI #SoftwareEngineering #TechTrends #FutureOfWork #Programming

Go go go Entrepreneurs! What a week! Start-up CTO & ML Engineer & Platform Engineer life is fun. - Debugging problems with your app's Observability can be hard when Observability isn't working. - Turn a RAG system from a POC to a solid platform. Fun. Evaluating different embedding models, orchestrating pipelines. Categorization. Retrieval. QA. Instruction-finetuned embeddings or different models? - Finally hire a Product Partner! Getting that dev contractor ramped up. - Pitched to potential investors, customers. - Added to the roadmap. Reprioritized. - Declare more Agile processes. - Write and test a bunch of code and ship ship ship. - Evaluate Customer Service solutions. - Evaluate Feature Flagging solutions. - Big strategy discussion. - Talk to potential dev partners. - Buy back-to-school supplies for my kids. - Started designing an app with my 9-year-old (and locally-hosted LLMs) - Troubleshoot a busted humidifier in the basement. Who wants to chat about any of the above? -e #startuplife #entrepreneur #nlp #rag #cto

Tip for aspiring developers: Don’t be a software engineer AI and tech are evolving at breakneck speed, and staying relevant means always learning, adapting, and grinding. It’s a field that never stops moving. If that excites you, dive in headfirst. But if the thought of constantly chasing change doesn’t sit right, this might not be the path for you—and that’s totally fine. Not everyone needs to be a coder. The key is finding what drives you and doubling down on it. #TechTips #DevLife #AI

As a software developer I’m both very excited and very anxious about AI - in a good way. AI is changing the world fast. (And as a software developer, I feel it) I’m excited about what it can do: - Automating boring tasks - Speeding up how we work - Building smarter tools But I’m also nervous: - Will my skills stay useful? - How do I keep up with all the changes? Here’s what I’ve learned: Feeling nervous is part of being excited. We’re not just watching this happen; we’re part of it. And that’s amazing. To my fellow developers: how do you feel about AI? Excited? Nervous? Both? #softwaredevelopment #ai #llm

Just hired an AI Software Engineer for a seed-stage startup in SF—in 5 days, end to end. This isn’t just speed. It’s AI + domain expertise in action. We built a model trained on high-niche data, fine-tuned with real hiring patterns, making it faster, sharper, and better at reasoning than anything we’ve seen before. Our fastest placement before—with top recruiters—was 20 days. Now? The model is outperforming because it recognizes real talent signals, not just resumes. AI isn’t replacing expertise—it’s supercharging it. And the experience? Smoother for talent, smarter for hiring teams
