Edging on a paver stone patio, driveway, or walkway creates a defined boundary from your hardscape and the lawn or garden next to it. It plays a critical role by keeping the pavers securely in place. If the edging process is not done correctly, then the paver stones will shift from their designated placements. Then, each uneven paver will become a tripping hazard and the stones become susceptible to cracking and breaking. Even though this starts as a small problem, it can quickly become an expensive one! #landscape #paverdesign #patio #pavermaintenance #loveyourpatio #indy #paverrescue #pavercare

Garden walls are called ‘party fence walls’ in the Act. Just to confuse things, fences aren’t actually party fence walls! To clear that up, it’s best we look at the act: ‘” Party fence walls” means a wall (not being part of a building) which stands on the lands of different owners and is used or constructed to be used for separating such adjoining lands, but does not include a wall constructed on the land of one owner the artificially formed support of which projects into the land of another owner’. So like a Type A party wall, the second part of this definition is talking about the foundations of the wall. This means you simply ignore the position of the foundations, even if they encroach over the boundary. Again, we’re concerned with the position of the wall itself when figuring out if it’s the party fence wall or not. Simply put, a party fence wall is a garden wall that sits astride the boundary of two lands. #partywall #partywallact #surveylife

How to Build a Tree-Top Pigeon Coop: A New Home for Your Birds Building a tree-top pigeon coop can be a rewarding project that provides your birds with a safe and elevated home. Follow these steps to create a comfortable and secure pigeon coop high up in the trees. #### Materials Needed: - Plywood or durable wood for the base and walls - Wire mesh or chicken wire - Nails, screws, and a hammer - Saw - Measuring tape - Hinges and latches - Ladder - Safety gear (gloves, helmet, harness) #### Step-by-Step Instructions: 1. **Choose the Right Tree**: - Select a sturdy tree with strong, evenly spaced branches. Ensure the tree is healthy and can support the weight of the coop. 2. **Plan the Design**: - Sketch a design for your pigeon coop. A simple box shape with a slanted roof works well. Ensure it has adequate ventilation and space for the pigeons to move around. 3. **Prepare the Materials**: - Measure and cut the plywood or wood for the base, walls, and roof. The base should be large enough to comfortably fit your pigeons, and the walls should be high enough to prevent them from escaping. 4. **Assemble the Base and Walls**: - Construct the base first, ensuring it is sturdy. Attach the walls to the base using nails or screws. Leave an opening for the door. 5. **Install the Roof**: - Attach the roof to the walls. A slanted roof helps with water drainage and prevents the coop from getting too wet. 6. **Add Ventilation**: - Cut out small sections on the walls and cover them with wire mesh to allow for airflow while keeping predators out. 7. **Build the Door**: - Create a door for the coop using a piece of wood. Attach it to the coop with hinges and secure it with a latch. 8. **Secure the Coop to the Tree**: - Carefully carry the coop up the tree using a ladder. Secure the coop to the tree using strong ropes or brackets. Ensure it is stable and won't tip over. 9. **Add Perches and Nesting Boxes**: - Inside the coop, add perches for the pigeons to rest on and nesting boxes for them to lay eggs in. 10. **Finishing Touches**: - Inspect the coop to ensure there are no sharp edges or loose wires that could harm the pigeons. Make any necessary adjustments. 11. **Introduce Your Pigeons**: - Once the coop is secure and comfortable, introduce your pigeons to their new home. Monitor them to ensure they adjust well to the new environment. Building a tree-top pigeon coop requires careful planning and safety precautions, but it can provide a unique and enjoyable home for your birds. Enjoy watching your pigeons thrive in their new elevated habitat!
