We're very excited to share NSW Government's announcement for the Port of Eden today. Following a lengthy and robust consultation process, NSW Government granted planning approval for a modification to the existing Eden Breakwater Wharf Extension. This planning approval will allow for larger cruise ships, and increased visitation to Eden, already a very successful regional NSW port. Specifically, the modification allows for vessels up to 370 metres to berth alongside the Eden Cruise Wharf, and removes the previous cap of 60 cruise visits per year. It also removes the 100m length limitation on other vessel types allowed to berth. Eden experienced a record season in 2023/24 with 40 cruise visits from 16 cruise lines bringing over 62,000 passengers to the region. Seventy-five percent of these passengers got off and enjoyed a total of 326 tours around the #SapphireCoastNSW - the port's highest take up of tours ever! Cruise Eden estimates the season value to be approximately $17 million - a very welcome economic boost for the region which suffered significantly during the 2019/20 bushfires and subsequent pandemic. Eden is the largest regional port in NSW, and has been going from strength to strength since the first call in 2005. The first private jet #NIL deal has landed. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart signs a partnership with Oxford, Mississippi based Nicholas Air, which allows Dart to have hours using the company's fleet of private jets for travel, training, and philanthropy. This is the first such deal in the nearly three years of NIL's existence. (Although there have been airline/airport related NIL partnerships that have taken place.) As I pitch travel-related companies on brand deals for my athletes (hotels, luggage, etc.) it surprises me more of these companies aren't in the NIL space. Given the amount of travel players undertake for their sport and the large number of athletes who play college sports far away from their hometown and family, it seems like a natural fit for these brands to partner with college athletes and have them promote said products while traveling for games.
