Public school teachers across the country report that the importance of their content and what they teach needs to be recognized, and they need more instructional time dedicated to teaching #USHistory to "help students grow into informed participants in a vibrant #democracy." I'm against the Louisiana law that requires the Ten Commandments in classrooms. I'm against the Pride Flag flown in public places. Let's stop the virtue signaling and focus on the basis. Stop the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion nonsense and focus on the basis. Placing the Ten Commandments in classrooms won't do much to change lives; living your life to honor God would. I love the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and similar organizations on campuses. I love the displays of students' works and progress on the campus walls. Let's focus on teaching the students the basics, like English, Math, Science, reading, writing, respect, leadership, finances, and being responsible adults. We must stop the virtue signaling, and let's start to lead with compassion and love. Our students must not be pawns in the hands of politicians and special interest groups. You can teach your children Christian values at home. If you must display the Ten Commandments, you can do it in Christian schools. Today, the American Historical Association released a major report with findings from the most comprehensive study of secondary US history education undertaken in the 21st century. AHA researchers appraised standards and legislation in all 50 states, conducted a survey of over 3,000 middle and high school US history educators, interviewed over 200 teachers and administrators, and reviewed thousands of pages of instructional materials from small towns to sprawling suburbs to big cities. The report provides empirical evidence and rigorous analysis to inform current debates over how history is taught in our schools. A key takeaway: the AHA did not find indoctrination, politicization, or classroom malpractice.
