The first week of October is Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW), a dedicated time for mental health advocates to unite and speak out. Millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness. Moreover, mental illnesses affect everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends, or coworkers. NAMI Minnesota invites you to attend a free class series that will bring members of our community together: https://lnkd.in/gD7QzNfY

Suicide Awareness Month is a poignant time for me, honoring my late brother, Julian, who tragically took his own life. In his memory, I established the Julian Campbell Foundation (JCF) , dedicated to empowering young individuals worldwide. Our mission at the foundation is to provide support, hope, and resources to those battling challenges. By sharing Julian's story, we aim to raise awareness about mental health, foster dialogue, and prevent such devastating losses. As we observe this month, let's unite, remember, and take meaningful action. Together, let's support one another, advocate for mental health, and continue changing lives. #SuicideAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthMatters #JulianCampbellFoundation #BreakTheSilence #YouAreNotAlone

This stark reality calls for action—we need to keep breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, offering support to those who need it, and fostering open conversations that can save lives. By reaching out, listening, and showing that we care, we can help create a future where no one feels alone. May 6 - 12 is Mental Health Week and this year's theme is #CompassionConnects. We can all use a little more compassion, whether it’s at work, at school or in our day-to-day lives. Compassion isn't just about being kind to others, it's about extending that same kindness to ourselves. The Outreach Centre is here to help and support you. If you are struggling, please call us at 403.347.2480. Please note that we are NOT a crisis line. If you are in crisis, call the Alberta Mental Health Help Line: 1.877.303.2642. #MentalHealthWeek2024
