This week is a big week for the #NursingIsSTEM coalition. We officially passed over 1,000 signatures of support to submit our letter to #DHS - formal statement coming out shortly with more information! (It’s not too late to sign too!!! - here is the link: https://lnkd.in/eyPb4r4e) And on the #LoveNLeary podcast hosted by #TheNursingBeat Marion Leary, PhD, MPH, RN and I talk about the initiaitive and what it could mean to the profession of nursing if classified as a #STEM profession. We highlight those who came before us - the articles published in support - showcase Jason Garbarino, DNP, RN, GERO-BC, CNL who was the nurse who took the formal action to make the website and start building the coalition - and the next steps in the process. Together, we’re tackling the challenges facing Arizona’s nursing workforce with our innovative, comprehensive Transition-To-Practice program, designed to support nurses moving from the classroom to the clinical setting and drive retention.
