One-Minute Read: Importance of Oil in Compressors Checking the oil level in your compressor is crucial—it’s a must on your daily checklist! When the compressor is shut down, the oil level should match what’s shown in the image below. While running, expect the oil level to fluctuate, usually settling around the middle or slightly lower. Quick Tip: Almost all oil-injected screw compressors have a small amount of oil carryover, approximately 3 mg/m3 of air. Oil Top-Up: Regular top-ups aren’t always needed, but if there’s an issue with the scavenging line or oil separator, the carryover rate may increase, requiring more frequent top-ups. At Atlas Copco, we’re here to help you take care of your compressor. For any questions about air compressors, feel free to reach out! #maintenance #troubleshoot #aircompressor #compressedair
