On October 9, join Marc Gurau and Cedric Triquet of The Chemours Company and Henry M. of Accelera by Cummins for a Mission Hydrogen webinar on the criticality of fluoropolymer and proton exchange membrane (#PEM) technology in the #cleanenergy transition. Marc, Cedric, and Henry will discuss myths and misconceptions around fluoropolymers, the importance of responsible manufacturing, key advantages of #PEMs, and beyond. Just registered Henry.. Looking forward for your intervention!!! Cheers!!!
Great topic Henry

5 个月Interesting webinar and nice to see connection Henry M. speaking. My takeaways were that PFAS are a broader category than fluoropolymers that are used in components in electrolyzers. PFAS definitely have environmental/health concerns while certain types of fluoropolymers may not (some are used and approved in medical devices). Some companies are looking to get away from fluoropolymers in electrolyzers while others are not as they are technologically superior to alternatives. Begs the broader question of what we are willing to accept as tradeoffs/costs for a decarbonized future. I.e. if we want electrolyzers NOW for decarbonizing, can we accept use of potentially hazardous materials as components? Are we ok with water use relative to no green H2 and use of precious metals as well?
