?Did you know that Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) affects more than 200 million people worldwide, but many don't even know they have it. PAD occurs when the arteries in the legs become narrowed due to atherosclerosis (plaque build-up) in the arteries supplying the legs. It is a common but under-diagnosed condition, often with serious consequences. These include stroke, coronary heart disease, amputation, dementia and cognitive impairment or even death!
