Who do you think is the best person to help you through a health issue, a health concern, or a health journey? In facing a health issue, many of us are blessed with friends and family who offer their help. When you don’t feel well and/or feel overwhelmed, their help can be wonderful for things like running errands, providing food, taking care of children, and other common life tasks. However, they may not be the BEST choice to help with HEALTHCARE specific concerns. This could be for a variety of reasons such as: They're too close to you emotionally in order to have an unbiased reaction or, they may not possess the knowledge required for efficient navigation of, and communication with, the healthcare system and its providers. → Consider the following recent research... 99% of patients and caregivers would engage an Advocate again and recommend working with an Advocate to their family and friends, highlighting the trust and satisfaction in Advocate services. The data presented here is derived from a detailed survey conducted by the Coalition of Health Care Advocacy Organizations (CHCAO) between late 2022 and early 2023. This study, involving over 500 healthcare professionals, Advocates, patients, and caregivers, was conducted without any honoraria for participation, ensuring unbiased insights. It sheds light on the essential role of Patient and Health Care Advocacy in health care.
