For a long time, I wanted to be the first, the top, the best. When I was in school, I was always in competition with my classmates and I loved winning as many awards as possible. ?? But as I get older, things have slowly shifted. I've seen some people on LinkedIn post about the awards they've won recently (which is amazing — congrats to all these agencies!!), and my competitive brain wants to jump in and see what I can "win." It's so nice to be recognized, and it feels great to be at the top. But I also know that it's ok to fly under the awards radar. Because, at the end of the day, I want to know if I'm influencing those in my smaller circle positively. Here are some questions I like to ask myself: ??Am I doing my best work, without compromising quality? ??Am I having fun at work? ??Are our clients happy with the work we're doing for them? Are we meeting their goals? ??Do we communicate well with our clients and within our team? ??Does my job allow me to have the life I want (and not the other way around)? ??Is my team happy with their work and not stressed or headed towards burnout? I'm almost always able to answer "yes" to all of these, and that brings me a whole lot of joy and contentment on a weekly basis. For me (and my team, and our clients!), that's a win. ??

Throwback to our first awards' night together ? Why ????????? It's simply about encouraging everyone to be a ???????? to the environment. It's easy to feel that your current job environment isn't giving you enough. It's healthier to consider what more you can give to the environment. Recently, a candidate asked me what it takes to be on the PLUS team. I replied, 'I'll take you under three conditions that you must agree to.' These conditions are ???????????? to each candidate. 1. For the amount of grievances you have now, I hope you'll maintain the same level of gratitude when you succeed. 2. Allow me to remind you each time defensiveness surfaces, just for a year. Allowing me to remind you means you actually recognize and accept it. 3. Complete your homework. Guess which one he said was the hardest? What would be the hardest for you? Are you able to tell which values I am focusing on? If you share the same values and are passionate about making a meaningful impact, I warmly invite you to join our team and contribute to the ???????? vision. ????

Your Time Will Come When others around us experience wins and accomplishments, we should take a moment to genuinely celebrate their triumphs. Clapping for the success of our colleagues, peers, and even competitors is a powerful act. It not only acknowledges their hard work and dedication, but it also sends a positive message that we are secure in ourselves and our own abilities. By celebrating others, we create an atmosphere of mutual support and collaboration, which can ultimately benefit us all. Remember, your time will come. The more you invest in uplifting and encouraging those around you, the more likely it is that you will receive that same energy in return. When you cheer on the successes of others, you're planting seeds that can blossom into future opportunities for yourself. So the next time you see someone achieve a milestone or reach a goal, take a moment to offer a sincere round of applause.There is enough success to go around. By lifting each other up, we can all rise to new heights together.

I recently made a mistake when celebrating a great month in our company.? We blew away our goal and I wanted to recognize our team. Instead of just congratulating our team for their great accomplishment, I threw in the dreaded "but" at the end of it. "but, next month will most likely be much different." There was no need for me to do this.? I intended to shield them from a possible letdown the following month since we always have a strong January. The "but" was not necessary at that time (and probably not at all). Celebrate your wins.? Recognize the success of your team - the other stuff can wait. A well-informed team already knows of the challenges that may lie ahead and is prepared to handle them. Let celebrating your wins stand on its own.? Do not dilute what your team accomplished. Interestingly, February came and they beat our target for that month as well.....and did it again in March.

Check out our Go>Choose recognition program that is run by the employees of Bish's RV. Here's how it works ?? When our team sees someone that does something great, or sees someone do something a little extra, they take a "caught ya" card. On that card, they write down who they are and what they did that was awesome and pin it on the board. You can see below that there's a lot of great stuff being done that's getting noticed. This particular Go> Choose board is at our dealer support center, and each of the Bish's RV locations has a board of its own. It's awesome being able to see all in one place how the team is not only serving each other, but how they are going beyond the norm to make a good experience for everyone that walks into a Bish's RV location.
