First, I wish everyone an amazing break—one filled with laughter, warmth, and moments that turn into lasting memories. Whether it’s with family, friends, or simply embracing some much-needed me time, I hope this season brings you joy and peace. At the same time, my thoughts go out to those who may not have loved ones nearby or are facing tough times. Let’s spare a moment of gratitude for what we have, and if we can, let’s find ways to spread kindness to those who need it most. Reflecting on Growth and New Beginnings ?? Merry Christmas, everyone! ???? I hope this season fills your heart with warmth, joy, and peace. As 2024 draws to a close, I find myself looking back with gratitude for the experiences and lessons learned. Whether it’s been as an Executive Assistant, Legal Assistant, Virtual Assistant, or helping people through Customer Service, each role has been a reminder of how deeply I care about supporting others and making their lives a little easier. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about being the one who ensures everything falls into place, whether it's organizing a busy schedule, supporting legal teams with care, or listening and solving problems for a customer. It’s not always easy, but it’s always meaningful. Every task, every challenge, has taught me to adapt, grow, and most importantly, to connect. This holiday season, I’m reflecting on how much I’ve learned from everyone I’ve worked with and the incredible people I’ve met along the way. It’s almost a wrap! ?? In just three months, we’ll be welcoming 2025. This brings a mix of emotions for me. On one hand, there’s a fear of not having done enough. On the other, a sudden surge of motivation to make these remaining 12 weeks truly worthwhile. It’s making me reflect on: ? What have I achieved? ? What’s still left to accomplish? ? How can I empower myself with the time I have left? ? How fast time goes by. ? ? Do you feel the same way? ? What have you done differently this year ? I’ve been mulling over and reflecting on the last twelve months before signing off for the next three weeks. The struggles, lessons learned, and the incredible reward amongst the projects worked through consulting with some wonderful organizations. Outside of those projects, to see the conversations and discussions taking place on this platform, our opinions in navigating the definition of what our “new normal” is, and attempting to anticipate what’s coming in an ever changing environment, trying to be first in providing “thought leadership” before the next guy/gal. I feel as though I should be surprised by what I’ve been a part of, heard, and observed, but as I sit here, well…I’m not. Demand is met by messaging that just gets repackaged and formalized with new verbiage. We do this as an industry more often then I think we realize. But while I have been disappointed to see the level of desperation that has brought so many to say whatever they need to “get the win,” how refreshing it has been to meet individual contributors that have branched out on their own and found success, not only for themselves, but by creating true value by standing on ethical delivery as opposed to rhetoric. When I first started consulting, I said I wasn’t sure how long I would commit to this. To be honest, I still don’t. But after taking some time to consider what’s next, there is one thing I continue to circle back on as the year draws to a close. I am so grateful for my new peers, just as much as I am my clients. This community I have found myself a part of in 2024 has left me thankful and blessed. I wouldn’t change a thing. 2025 is already shaping up to be a great year with new challenges and problems to solve (perhaps even an announcement or two). For those of you who are also looking to take your holiday reprieve in the upcoming weeks, I wish you a positively joyous season, and a wonderful new year ahead. Cheers to you and yours! P.S. Here's the message (same text as the attached image): -- Whoever is cutting onions in here needs to stop. Thanks so much, y'all. Seriously. Joining up with everyone here at Focus Lab is one of the best life decisions I've ever made. I'm reminded every single day that I hit the freakin' job jackpot. I'm surrounded by incredible talent. I'm encouraged to learn and grow, even outside of any project needs. I can take a damn vacation without an ounce of worry. I have the flexibility to make my own calls on my work and how I present it. I get to associate with genuinely wonderful humans on a daily basis. I'm pretty sure I have the best health plan there is. And, I get paid pretty damn well too! The list goes on. Anyway, I just want to say that I appreciate this recognition, and I appreciate all of you so, so deeply. 2025 LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO -- This is the kind of gratitude and excitement that fuels the Focus Lab culture. It’s a testament to creating an environment where flexibility, trust, and growth are non-negotiable. This post is a powerful reminder that leadership isn’t just about strategy and decision-making; it’s about setting the tone for the entire organization.
