For almost 7 years I have had the pleasure of serving the students of MRC and I can honestly say that these have been 7 of my favorite years! From joking around at the front desk and making radio shows to Uno games and rap classes, I have laughed and learned so much. We have built an amazing community around the love of music. With that being said, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that December 23rd will be my last day at MRC. Thank you to all the students, volunteers, parents, performers, and guest rap coaches who have allowed me to be a part of your lives. If you have ever been involved with MRC, please Join us on December 23 from 2-4 for our holiday kickback and to celebrate my last day!

Are you or have you been involved in a group that is not cultic? This post is for those who have not been involved in cultic groups but have been members or still are members of a range of different groups such as mainstream churches, sports groups, music groups, drama groups, Mum's groups and so on. The survey does take quite a time to complete - the actual time depends to some extent on your answers. Please do complete this survey if you can and repost it to your own followers. We will be using this data to compare results with the survey for former members of cultic groups. Here is the direct link - the QR code on the poster below should also work. https://lnkd.in/dVeiXg99

When it comes to scholarship and creative practice in the academy, I am working very hard to redefine what Hip Hop scholarship looks like. As a Hip Hop scholar, I am also a practitioner who creates Hip Hop music and who works to push the culture forward. Creative practice and scholarship at a level that lands you a spot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, I think I’m making a pretty strong case! https://lnkd.in/gsZzYch9

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.I will keep in touch if know anyone that need funding. The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible."The best way to predict the future is to create it.It's great connecting with you?Collaboration is indeed key to driving success and fostering a strong community. Given my role as a loan broker, there are numerous opportunities to partner with other organizations and companies in the financial industry. Is there specific types of partnerships or networking opportunities , Perhaps I can help identify some potential collaborators or strategies to enhance someone's network. We have so much global conflict today under crushing debt load and few economic resources to meet a growing population. Resolution comes with a massive dose of truth. The UK is mother to us all. She must act now. We need to release primary sources to verify and confirm our true black history. American red Indians came from Mongolia ???? in the 1800s and were never indigenous to America. The real American Indians were black when a black Columbus showed up from black Europe in 1492. Blacks lived in America over 2000 years. Blacks lived in Europe for over 2000 years. The Black Hebrews occupied Europe and Scotland. Ben Franklin's Essay of 1751 on the increase of mankind par.24 is the clearest statement on race with an extremely small white population tied to the Caucasus but housed in England at the time of Ben's essay when global population was 600 m. Today of 8.2 billion souls UN /CIA report 5 % considered pure white. How can history be accurate? In North Africa I was called Berber blue man but content with genetically proven black bin Yahya Hebrew label. Blacks managed planet as leaders for 5800 years going back to a black Adam in BCE4000. Hard truth is that 300 years ago small group of whites were still in the Caucasus.
In an inspiring initiative aimed at fostering dialogue and understanding, officers from West Yorkshire Police recently visited The Music House in Leeds to engage with members of the Reggae Roots Choir. This meeting not only celebrated the power of music but also addressed crucial topics surrounding Black culture, heritage, and the relationship between policing and the Black community. #ReclaimingNarratives #beyondoctober #Blackhistory https://lnkd.in/gYA9NUmW

Thank you Anita Gouveia! As a coach, I work with many executives who have spent 10, 20, or even 30 years climbing the corporate ladder, logging 60+ hours a week, only to realize they feel burnt out or disconnected from their work. What’s striking is that they often knew something was off long before they hit this point. They recognized they weren’t growing or energized but kept going—held back by the fear of change, the weight of others’ expectations, or the prestige tied to their title. Sound familiar? It reminds me of a story about someone who didn’t even?want?to be in the choir but felt the pressure to perform because of who was watching. When I asked why she was so nervous, she said, “I just want to prove I can make it.” And haven’t we all been there? Pushing for a promotion we’re not sure we’d even enjoy. Striving for recognition that doesn’t really matter to us, just to prove we deserve it. Chasing goals because they’ll look good on paper—not because they light us up inside. But here’s the truth: tying our worth to external achievements can trap us in a cycle of stress and dissatisfaction. At some point, we have to ask ourselves: ???If I get this, then what? ???Is this what I truly want—or what I think I should want? If you’re realizing you’re in the wrong “choir,” take a deep breath. It’s never too late to realign your career with your values and aspirations. Start with these 3 steps: 1???Pause before you quit. Don’t make a rash decision. You’ve invested years in your career—give yourself time to figure out what you truly want. 2???Reflect deeply. Get clear on your values, your ideal career, and the future you envision. Write a statement that captures your purpose—something you can articulate in a few minutes. 3???Take action. Small steps toward your ideal future add up. Don’t let fear or perfectionism keep you stuck. Your life is too important to spend doing work that doesn’t inspire you. Remember, you are enough as you are. Your worth isn’t defined by titles, achievements, or anyone else’s expectations. If this resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts—are you chasing something you truly want, or something you think you?should?want?
My daughter is auditioning for her school choir. She doesn’t actually want to be in the choir, she’s only doing it because all her friends are. The day before, she was sharing how nervous she was, and I tried to reassure her by reminding her that she didn’t really want to be a part of it anyway. She snapped back, “But I still want to make it!” I had to laugh because, honestly, haven’t we all been there? Wanting something just for the sake of getting it, even when we don’t actually want it? Maybe it’s a promotion we’re not even sure we’d enjoy, but we still want to know we were their best option. Or we push for recognition that doesn’t really matter to us, just to prove we’re deserving of it. Or maybe we go after opportunities that are more about how we’ll be seen than what we really want to do. The thing is, more often than not, it’s not about the actual thing and more about proving we’re capable, worthy, or good enough. But her words reminded me how easy it is to tie our worth to these external wins. And sometimes, it’s worth asking ourselves: If I get this, then what? Is this what I truly want—or what I think I should want? Because in the end, chasing something for the wrong reasons can leave us with more stress. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is let it go, and trust we’re #enough as we are.
