Up until last week I was pretty clueless, and can't see myself ever booking a holiday just because I have seen something featured in a film, but plenty of people do. That said, we did visit Harry Potter world last year with the kids when on holiday in England which was very impressive. "Set jetters" refers to a niche group of travelers or film enthusiasts who visit the real-world locations where their favorite movies, TV shows, or music videos were filmed. These individuals often plan trips specifically to see and experience these iconic places firsthand. The term "set jetting" is derived from "jet-setting," a term used to describe people who frequently travel by air, often for leisure or glamour. Set jetters might visit: 1. **Famous movie locations**: For example, the Shire from "The Lord of the Rings" in New Zealand, or the steps from "Rocky" in Philadelphia. 2. **TV show locations**: Such as the filming sites for "Game of Thrones" in Northern Ireland or Croatia. 3. **Music video sites**: Like places featured in iconic music videos. The phenomenon of set jetting has grown in popularity with the rise of social media and fan communities, making it easier to find and share information about filming locations. Additionally, some tourism boards have capitalised on this trend by offering guided tours and special attractions centered around popular film and TV sites. Visit Jersey certainly have "set jetting' on their radar at the moment with the recent announcement that filming is starting for the relaunch of Bergerac.
