What mistakes did I make during my GATE preparation and on the GATE exam day that caused me to lose 8-10 marks? Looking back at my GATE exam and the exam itself, I made some mistakes that cost me around 8-10 marks. Despite these mistakes, I somehow managed to secure rank 7 in the GATE 2016 exam. Here's what went wrong: 1. I thought 1/4 was 0.5 instead of 0.25. Simple math, but I got mixed up. 2. I got a ratio question right (4:3), but I wrote it backward as 3:4. Silly mistake, but it happens. 3. I messed up a decimal point and wrote 0.5 instead of 0.05. Small error, big impact. 4. I put a minus sign where there shouldn't have been one, turning 0.5 into -0.5. An easy slip-up. To avoid these mistakes: - Practice a lot, especially with good test papers. - Double-check your solutions/answers, especially under pressure. - Stay calm during the exam. Stress can lead to silly errors. - Make sure you really understand the basics. It helps prevent simple mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes, but learning from them is what counts. Good luck with your exams! #gateexam #exams #testurself #competitiveexams

Improve your exam technique when answering #gcse #maths exam questions! When answering complex or multi step questions, I have now started numbering my workings as shown in the video below. This has a few advantages. It makes it easier for the examiners to mark the paper as they can easily follow the sequence of workings. It also helps students check their workings in an organised manner under timed restraints. It is a win win situation. https://lnkd.in/eftaPCVs
