During her PhD, she set up nearly 400 audio recorders in the rainforest to study spider monkeys, uncovering the rich biodiversity in the canopy compared to lower layers. With an increasing disconnect from our natural world, misconceptions and misinformation about the species we share our landscapes with often dominate our narratives. Understanding is the first step to rebuilding our relationship with the environment. In this video series, created in collaboration with the Rainmatter Foundation, we explore how communities and organisations across the country are working to coexist with elephants, snakes, leopards, and more. Functional ecosystems require coexistence with all non-human species. In parts of the country, invasive species like the Lantana camara pose a challenge for wildlife as well as communities in the region. In this video, we uncover how eradicating the invasive Lantana camara is transforming ecosystems and providing livelihoods for indigenous communities through furniture making and biomass creation.
