So much chat about the recent announcement that British soldiers will now be allowed to sport beards. This is just a pointless distraction from the real challenges of recruiting soldiers in the modern era. Young people are not stupid…they see that successive governments and their broken foreign policies over the past 20 years, compounded by their failure to support our wounded veterans is a source of national shame. I like beards (I have one most of the time). Who cares!!!??? What soldiers really want is to know that their government values them and has their back. There needs to be an end to vexatious legal claims against soldiers doing what they have been ordered to do (I am not against genuine crimes being prosecuted). They need to be paid more than they would working as a doorman. They need a solid pension. They need to know that their unique health challenges (mental and physical) will be dealt with as a priority. They need a decent pension…the Army used to call this the “x-factor” but even this is unforgivably diluted. They need the best training, the best leadership…they need to be inspired. Prolonged recruitment processes, run by an incompetent private sector provider are not working. Beards are not the issue…let’s please talk about what really is the barrier to recruiting a brilliant next generation of loyal, committed and talented service people.

So many areas could sell out fo the big cities and have years of income if managed right and then replan and build up the inner nation again. So many major cities in the world we will rot going into the future. Really free markets to repurpose would help. plus in my area is a free fix-it group, and even a person I know setting up a really free shop. They do this at Christmas. How many good houses have gone to waste and the welfare system does not help plus globalist policies? This is the effect of less than 1% globalism on nations for 50-100 years coming to fruition

My dear LinkedIn community, I am in the middle of an election of a society of repute where all candidates are accomplished professionals and are campaigning for votes.? Being part of many such election campaigns in many institutions having diverse aims and objectives, I am once again faced with the question to ponder over is :once elected, do we really wish to part away with our precious time, resources and energy for the welfare of that organization selflessly without self promotion? Are we able to sacrifice political interests and work for organization honestly and with integrity, without bias, fear or favor? Self promotion, networking and using the resources of such offices are malice all pervasive being a universal fact. It’s the reflection of the egocentric times we are living in giving a fallacious hope to the fraternity. This starts from our very own resident welfare organizations and feasts upon our democratic institutions. We need more participatory governance at all levels and it would be a reality only if the fraternity keeps a vigil, has a system of checks and balances and chooses non-corruptible members. ? Let's just be like our army soldiers: selfless, indomitable and sacrificing self.
