Remote and async work doesn’t have to be complicated - in fact, when done right, it can be a game-changer for both employees and companies. Here’s what I’ve learned about making remote work work from my time in a fully distributed environment: - Team building and support are at the heart of everything we do. Everyone is cheering each others' successes in multiple slack channels & your career progression is always top of mind with Pando - Generous wfa + pto policies mean you can really unplug or you can call home to another place for a while. Whatever fills your cup and lets you focus best. - Benefits are obviously important but they are not one size fits all so offer a little extra that employees can use on their own like Ben - All-hands meetings and weekly standups keep everyone in the loop, plus async communication with Slack & Loom, overcommunication is always best - Prioritize meeting people across the company to break down silos, whether through specific slack channels based on interests, Donut chats, or meet-ups.
