Problem statements are like the road signs of your website, content, and sales process. They stop your audience in their tracks and make them say, “Ah, that’s me. That’s my problem.” And once you’ve got their attention? You can guide them straight to the solution. Here’s how it works: 1?? Come up with 4–5 problem statements. These are short, sharp summaries of the most common issues your audience faces. ?? “I’m struggling to connect sales and marketing.” ?? “We can’t figure out why leads aren’t converting.” ?? “Our value proposition doesn’t land.” (You get the idea.) 2?? Categorise your products or services under each statement. If you can group your offerings under those 4–5 problems, you’re golden. 3?? Use the statements everywhere. On your website, they act as signposts to the right solutions. In your content, they’re the hook that makes someone think, “Finally, someone who gets it.” ?? Why bother? Talk about a good reminder. Yesterday I carved out some time to work on the content for my own business. The goal being to finally pull together all the pieces for a new lead magnet. The lead magnet was already written and designed. I just had to set up the *little* funnel that promotes and delivers my lead magnet. And 4 hours later, I remembered even a little funnel takes a lot work. Creating graphics. Building a sign-up page. Creating links. Embedding code. Writing more copy. It was a good reminder to me of how many pieces are involved in putting something out there into the (digital) world. And then I marvel at those with bigger businesses and more complex funnels. Yes, many of you have a team with different specialists (thank goodness). But it's still such a big achievement. So my hats off to everyone in the arena! Big or small, you're doing this thing. P.S.
