Recently, The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) released new guidance to help employers understand their legal obligations for supporting workers experiencing menopausal symptoms. Menopause symptoms can significantly impact women in the workplace. Research shows that two-thirds (67%) of working women aged 40 to 60 have experienced negative effects from menopausal symptoms, including reduced concentration, increased stress, and difficulty carrying out tasks. It's essential to understand that if these symptoms have a substantial and long-term impact, they could be considered a disability, requiring employers to make reasonable adjustments and prevent discrimination. It's important to implement all staff training to ensure everyone in your organisation understands how to recognise, support, and accommodate colleagues experiencing menopausal symptoms effectively.
