Just days after winning re-election to what would be her 6th term in Congress, GOP Representative Elise Stefanik was picked by President-Elect Donald Trump to be the first member of his Cabinet, nominating the Congresswoman to be his U-N Ambassador, and if she is confirmed, setting the stage for a special election to fill the open seat in Congress in NY21.

At least we can enjoy the peaceful transfer of power this time. As vice president, Harris could do what Trump meant Pence should have done. But she has no intention of doing so. --- What happens next is difficult to predict. No one knows what Trump will do.? All he wanted was to win the presidency.? Having the keys to the White House, his next ambition will be to keep them for as long as it pleases him.? That ambition will drive his priorities.? My assessment might be wrong. Time will tell. #internationalbusiness https://lnkd.in/dFfj877k

Yesterday, while I was watching the news channels to follow the election results, I learned an invaluable life lesson. The results showed NDA winning 293 seats and The I.N.D.I.A (Congress and Alliance) winning 232 seats. Although I might not remember the exact numbers, the important takeaway for me was the reaction of the Congress members. I am not supporting any political party here, but I am appreciating the way Congress party members celebrated their defeat. Despite not winning, they were celebrating their performance. Their excitement stemmed from knowing they had done far better than in previous elections. This attitude was truly inspiring and led me to some key realizations: Be Positive ??: Always maintain a positive outlook, no matter the outcome. Celebrate Your Defeat ??: Recognize and celebrate the progress you’ve made, even if you haven’t reached your ultimate goal. Always Try to Find Ways to Win ??: Continuously seek improvement and new strategies for success. Nothing is Impossible ??: Believe in your potential to achieve great things, even when the odds seem against you. This experience reinforced the importance of resilience and optimism. It’s not about winning every time, but about acknowledging progress and using it as a foundation for future success. #LifeLessons #StayPositive #Resilience #CelebrateProgress #NothingIsImpossible #KeepImproving

People of the United States and the entire world watched the debate between the former president and the flagbearer of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, and the Vice President and the candidate of the Democratic Party, Kamala Harris. Interestingly, the 90-minute debate involved heated arguments and personal attacks on claims from both candidates. Nonetheless, the debate influenced the decisions of some voters, and the odds for the winner of the 2024 United States presidential election have since shifted after the debate. Below are points from the debate and odds. https://lnkd.in/dGn4EzZA

PRESIDENT-ELECT DONALD TRUMP AND PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN MET AT THE WHITE HOUSE: The Political rivals of #PresidentElect Mr. #DonaldTrump and #PresidentJoeBiden met at the #WhiteHouse #OvalOffice as part of the transition process, a formality that #DoladTrump didn't extend to #JoeBiden in 2020. #PresidentElect #DonaldTrump returned to the White House on Wednesday morning, where he met #PresidentJoeBiden in the Oval Office. The present president and the President-Elect are said to have discussed the transition from one administration to the other after Trump defeated #VicePresidentKamalaHarris in the #UnitedStatesofAmerica election. It is noted that President-elect #DonaldTrump and President #JoeBidenn have criticized each other for years, and hold different policy positions. In the #USPresidentialElections2024, #JoeBidenBiden, the #Democrat, defeated #DonaldTrump in the 2020 election, but in the 2024 Presidential race, #VicePresidentKamalaHarris, the Democrat, was defeated by the #Republican #DonaldTrump.

Dear President Biden: I understand all the calls for you to step aside. I also find them arrogant and judgmental. The certainty with which newspaper columnists, editorial boards, and Medium writers prognosticate, displays arrogance. Branding you as selfish if you don’t step aside exhibits judgmental attitudes. How do they know what’s in your heart and mind? If you truly believe you are still the best person to run the country and have a legitimate chance of keeping Trump from returning to the White House, staying in would not display selfishness (but perhaps stubbornness). You can dispense with all that. I find the notion of an open convention appealing if the DNC can come up with a fair process without it being a free-for-all or other form of spectacle. So Joe, here’s a way for you and all those calling for you to step aside to have your cakes and eat them too. If you believe in your heart that you just had a bad night at the debate, be courageous. Take a risk. Release your delegates but do not withdraw. Make your case at the convention, along with a reasonable number of others invited to make their case for themselves. No one should be seen as running against the others. No comparisons with or criticisms directed at the others. Let the delegates decide, no matter how many ballots or rounds of speeches with reducing fields it takes, to come to a nomination. Tell Kamala, she’s free to throw her hat in the ring so no one can accuse you of sidelining her. Perhaps require a super-majority to win the nomination. In this way Joe, no one can reasonably call you selfish. If you don’t prevail, you can go out with your head held high and set an example for future election processes. If you do prevail, all the pundits can write their?mea culpas. In any event, even if you fail, you will be admired for your courage, and anyone worth their salt will see you as a success. Sincerely, Gregory Maidman?(aka?Marcus) #Biden #Election #2024Election #Debate #Democrats

Conversation with Robert Broeksmit and former speaker of the house John Boehner. He noted both parties need a reset from the far left or far right. He reminded us he does not even know what’s real anymore from the “news”. He did remind us our country is still operating through Congress far better than anywhere else in the world! Who will continue to play pivotal roles to moderate either party? They will show themselves in the future. Prediction: R’s will win in Senate ( likely lead by one or two seats) . Whoever wins the WH will likely win House ( narrowly). Per Boehner: Trump likely has a bigger lead than it appears today. With early voting it’s unclear this will change. It still could go either way! Get out and vote! Voter intensity is key to who wins the race. #MBAannual24 #electionsmatter #getoutthevote
