AI reaches the next. phase in healthcare as reimbursement codes are assigned to AI assisted surgery. Physicians are using AI without a reimbursement code in several cases but the assignment of reimbursement code makes it accessible to many more patients The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services has officially assigned a national payment rate to an artificial intelligence-assisted prostate cancer mapping tool Unfold AI tool by Aveda . The American Medical Association also implemented a Category III code for reimbursement related to the use of the product.? The code,?0898T, will enable providers to bill for?utilizing the prostate cancer estimation maps produced by the tool. These maps are derived from advanced analysis of image-guided fusion biopbiopsy and pathology, and include tumor margin visualization, margin determination, and physician interpretation and reporting.?

What is AI's potential in detecting, treating, and monitoring colorectal cancer? Treatment strategy selection: AI can use data to predict treatment outcomes and guide the selection of therapies for individual patients. Prognosis evaluation: AI can help predict long-term prognosis for patients with CRC. Image analysis: AI can improve the readability of medical images and help analyze histopathologic images. For example, AI software can analyze multispectral biopsy images with 99.17% accuracy. Biomarker identification: AI can identify biomarkers for non-invasive screening. Robotic surgery: AI can guide robotic surgery to improve results in hard-to-reach areas, which may reduce the chance of recurrence. Early detection: AI-assisted technology, like Medtronic's GI Genius, can help doctors detect pre-cancerous polyps during endoscopies. #HealthCare #Pharmacy #ColorectalCancer #AI #TreatmentStrategy #PrognosisEvaluation #BiomarkerIdentification #EarlyDetection

Nexstim & Brainlab Join Forces! ?? When Nexstim nTMS data serves as seed points for tractography planning in Brainlab Elements, you are defining what's clinically and functionally relevant for neuro-oncology surgery. Recently, Dr. Bhadu Kavar (Melbourne Private Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital) referred an ambidextrous and bilingual gentleman for nTMS, who presented with intermittent word-finding difficulties presumably associated with a suspected higher grade lesion in the left 'dominant' parietal lobe. nTMS data produced by Ryan Hamer suggested otherwise, indicating mild bihemispheric language representation favouring right hemisphere dominance, which was exported for tractography planning with Dr Kavar and Uli Mezger. The patient subsequently underwent an asleep craniotomy under general anaesthesia aided with complex electrophysiological mapping, and remained neurologically intact (motor & language) following the procedure. ?? Brainlab have recently announced a strategic financial position in Nexstim involving development and distribution. Together, the two companies will develop new solutions and improved workflows in the neurosurgery field. ?? This newly-announced partnership represents a significant step toward increasing?access and understanding?of Nexstim’s transformative technology thanks to Brainlab’s image-guided surgery portfolio, extensive global network, and commitment to education, which will play a critical role in introducing Nexstim to more clinicians and patients to improve outcomes in neuro-oncology surgery. We're excited to see what happens next ? For those interested, we regularly host demonstrations at our headquarters in Melbourne. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more: ???? I was delighted to meet with surgeon Mr Mark Vasanth, and Dr Sophia Stanford, Lead Research Scientist, of the Peritoneal Malignancy Institute at The Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. All of us at Pseudomyxoma Survivor are proud to be funding an exciting AI research initiative to help predict disease recurrence and survival, to improve patient care and refine primary treatment protocols. ? Using recent advancements in machine learning (ML), a branch of artificial intelligence (AI), the team will analyse data from hundreds of patients treated with cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and intraoperative hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).?These major surgical?procedures are the accepted interventions used to address this rare cancer.??The ML-based model is intended to guide clinical decisions and the management of patients facing disease recurrence post surgery.??The research will also include human and patient factors in the ML model development and facilitate trust in the use of AI, alongside conventional medical expertise and experience.
