“Essential for some, beneficial for all” Jenn Brant- Nursery Managers show seminar I was at the Nursery Managers Show on Friday and I listened to a great seminar on SEN provision. While I don’t personally work in a nursery anymore, I do organise rooms and routines with children in mind and many of the families that hire me have children with additional needs. Organising a space that your children can use, enabling the environment so they can be more independent, whatever their needs maybe, can benefit all in your home or setting. She used the analogy of a caretaker clearing snow of the steps and saying he will clear the ramp after. But clearing the ramp first would mean all can go in and not just those who can use steps. I organise rooms and routines with children in mind, but I don’t do one size fits all. I find out your needs of your family, the routines you want sleeker, the parts of your day that are stressing you out and optimise your space and time to help child development, autonomy, independence as well as making family life easier. If you would like a free fifteen minute call to talk about a room or routine that is stressing you out, click on the link in the comments. #send #specialneeds #organise #enablingenvironments #parents #nurserymanagersshow
