Appediet Series on Desi festival foods , Indian traditional foods -2 India’s diversity is reflected in its multitude of cultures, traditions, and festivals. One such unique festival -Veer phuli celebrated in Rajasthan and Gujarat highlights a special cuisine: Tikkad with ghee and jaggery. Tikkad, a thick roti made from wheat, is traditionally served with fresh cow ghee and jaggery. Ghee, rich in medium-chain fatty acids, supports gut health, while jaggery, high in iron, helps boost hemoglobin levels. Tikkad is often paired with Panchbheli dal, a nutritious blend of five pulses—chana, moong, urad, masoor, and toor dal—finished with a squeeze of lemon to aid digestion. While delicious and nourishing, this meal is calorie-dense, so it should be enjoyed in moderation. #traditionalfoodsofindia #rajasthanifoods #ghee #jaggerypowder #benefitsofghee #cowghee #cowgheebenefits #jaggerybenefits

Last month we launched our Gastro Taste of India range in Iceland Foods and Sainsbury's! ?? Earlier this year we launched the Gastro Taste of Asia range which has delivered over £2.8m of retail sales to the brand. It’s been the biggest launch in Frozen Fish so far this year. We wanted to further tap into the growing consumer interest in global cuisine, which now accounts for 30% of all lunch and evening meal occasions. Research showed us that 75% of all coated fish is consumed with chips, but 70% of shoppers would eat coated fish with rice or noodles if the flavour was right. As Indian food is one of the UK’s favourite cuisines, it seemed only right to expand the Gastro range further to bring these authentic, delicious flavours to the category and offer more options for consumers to enjoy the great taste and health benefits of seafood. Have you tried our Taste of India range yet? Take your pick of Masala Breaded Fish Fillets, Kerala Breaded Fish Fillets or Amritsari Street Food Tempura Battered Mini Fish Fillets. #TasteofAsia #NPD #GlobalCuisine #Retail
