One day all clients will demand their consultants and elected representatives think this way.#lowcarbon #lowenergybills ARCO2 are one of my favourite architects who offers hope for new build in the south west of England. At present our ancient c20th business model relies on large scale developers keeping standards and innovation nice and low. Unaffordable, poorly built houses and flats designed as mass produced boxes are all the British seem to deserve. Enlightened European Governments as well as the Scottish Assembly give their people affordable sustainable healthy homes and more importantly lower cost energy bills. Some local ‘rebel alliance’ authorities and niche contractors in England and Wales are trying to build their own offer but land prices appear to stop them developing such wonderful homes. #passivhaus #aecb For now be jealous at what the ‘Best in Show’ looks like in the South West of England for lucky enlightened clients. The vibrant urban spaces that make up The Riverfront Revitalization project in Omaha, Nebraska, have once again captured the imagination and recognition of prestigious design juries. We’re thrilled to announce that this project has recently been honored with Urban Land Institute's 2024 ULI Americas Award for Excellence and was also named the winner of the urban design category in the 2024 Fast Company Innovation by Design awards. In collaboration with OJB Landscape Architecture and many other partners, we tackled the engineering complexities of incorporating not one but three parks within downtown Omaha to improve access and connections, foster environmental connection and support economic growth.
