Only the armed forces have the resources to stop it yet it was allowed placing Legal Americans in harm's way including assault, rape and death of over 300,000 of my beloved Americans (Proven). More of the USMC Civil War over doctrine. Sorry Gary - but I disagree with your main point of others staying out of a family feud. It needs to be discussed both inside and outside the USMC because such allows issues and concerns and possible answers that may not otherwise be seen if limited to just the two sides. “If you want peace, prepare for war”. These wise words from Sun Tzu centuries ago, have been unpopular over the past few decades and often interpreted as “generals’ motivation for more toys” or “the greedy defense industry wanting more profit”. Sometimes this has been and will be a small part of the whole truth. However, the current instability, conflict and war around the world repeatedly expose the careless and uniformed neglect of defense forces and defense industrial bases. The harsh reality that you cannot just “start-up” a credible, professional and supported armed force. Bad things happen to good people and nations and it is sad to observe how a country not able to defend itself, with or without allies, is at the mercy of aggressors. A wise man also once said “A country who draws a distinction between the thinking and the fighting man/citizen, will have his thinking done by cowards and his fighting done by fools”. The Brereton Report. is the single most reason for the decline in ADF / ARMY recruitment and retainment of Troops, together with the public perception, disinterest and engagement with the ADF and CDF Commander which lead to the persecution of our SAS special forces. This bizarre saga is still continuing (as I write) with Ex CDF Angus Campbell and the Albanese Government calling for Afghanistan families of supposed deceased family members to step forward and claim monetary gain for supposed actions of our SAS special forces..
