I've ALWAYS loved a good old fashioned bootstrapped founder, and as I share in today's piece in Modern Retail, “I’m hoping we see a new breed of entrepreneurs arise and thrive in this new era” Thanks Gabriela Barkho for including me - I especially enjoyed reading some of the perspectives of founders you highlighted here cc: Catherine Zhu (Modern Dose) - loved this: "when it’s your own money and you’re not pursuing VC funding in the immediate term, there is an element of being diligent of every dollar spent from day one.”? https://lnkd.in/g4PZRuHW
Here for this !
Great read! As a bootstrapped founder myself I’ve always thought of it as deciding to become an investor into my own business and proving traction with more limited means before we open up to let others in and scale up in a big way!
Focusing on the fundamentals and profitability from day #1!
I’ve always thought, as a bootstrapping founder, that I need to make sure I get the business right first, before I look for funding. Perhaps thats not the fastest way, or the smartest way, but I feel that would be the most sensible way for me. I went to organic skincare formulation school so I could design the products and understand ingredients. I am working with sales and marketing experts so I can learn how to position SHAI Skincare and what resonates. It takes a bit more time, but faster in the longer term and more sustainable.

7 个月Isn’t that true! There absolutely is a level a diligence and creativity that is provided when it’s your own dollars.
