There's been a lot of chatter recently about how the fertility industry is a "Wild West" that needs reining in. What we've talked less about is how headline-grabbing fertility mistakes (embryo mix-ups, destructions and the like) have created an opening for anti-abortion activists to argue for rules that could actually restrict access to IVF. Fertility treatments are at a perilous crossroads: Critics argue that the industry suffers from regulatory blindspots that leave it vulnerable to errors, yet more rules could threaten access to IVF?at a time it’s already seen as the next target in the nation’s erosion of reproductive rights. https://lnkd.in/eFc9M6wE

This is deeply personal on several levels and absolutely abhorrent.
Center for Reproductive Rights President and CEO Nancy Northup joined CNN's Kaitlan Collins to talk about the dangerous new ruling out of Alabama’s Supreme Court, which is imperiling people’s access to critical IVF treatment. Already, Alabama’s largest hospital has stopped offering IVF services, and we can expect to see further disruptions to care as this alarming new law comes into effect. #ReproductiveRightsAreHumanRights

?International Day of Contraception: Promoting Reproductive Health and Rights for Youth ? ??Every child should be a wanted Child?? September 26th marks World Contraception Day each year. Every pregnancy is wanted is the central idea of the yearly global campaign. It is essential that women have the freedom to decide how many, when, and how far apart to have children. A crucial component is contraception. Nevertheless, 257 million women who wish to avoid getting pregnant do not use safe, contemporary forms of contraception as we approach World Contraception Day today. Misconceptions regarding long-term effects on fertility and worries about side effects are a couple of the causes. Some women may have their husbands, partners, or in-laws forbid them from using birth control. For wanting to use contraception, some women might feel stigmatized. Certain women lack knowledge about contraception, are unable to obtain it, or cannot afford it. People can select the method of contraception that best suits their needs by having access to a range of options, taking into account various aspects such as lifestyle, health concerns, and future plans. On this World Contraception Day, let us celebrate the strides made in empowering individuals to make choices that align with their reproductive health goals. By providing access to a diverse array of contraceptive methods, fostering informed decision-making, and upholding human rights principles, we can collectively contribute to healthier societies, gender equality, and improved quality of life?worldwide. The International Day of Contraception is a vital reminder of the ongoing need for action and advocacy in the area of reproductive health. he International Day of Contraception serves as a crucial reminder of the need for sustained advocacy and action in the field of reproductive health. While much progress has been made, significant challenges remain, particularly for young people and marginalized communities. The path forward requires a multifaceted approach: governments must prioritize reproductive rights in their health policies, educators must provide accurate information to young people, and healthcare systems must be equipped to offer a range of contraceptive options. By doing so, we can move closer to a world where everyone has the power to make informed choices about their reproductive futures. #Contraception #MenHealth #WomensHealth
