The Truth About New York’s Happy Hour Snobbery ?? Let’s be honest - New Yorkers have expensive taste, and their happy hour habits prove it. Across the country, Mainstream Beer holds the top spot, making up just over 20% of drinks ordered. However, New York’s drink preferences stand out from the rest of the nation: Nationwide Top Happy Hour Sellers 1?? Mainstream Beer: 20% 3??Craft Beer: 12.5% 6?? Imported Beer: 9% New York’s Happy Hour Preference 1?? Imported Beer: 18% 2?? Craft Beer: 17% 6?? Mainstream Beer: 7.7% Wondering what’s driving these numbers? Guinness and Stella Artois are the stars of New York’s after-work scene. Guinness takes nearly 7% of happy hour pours—over four times the average elsewhere in the nation—while Stella shines at 3.7%, vastly outpacing its 0.5% showing elsewhere. Maybe it’s the international flair, maybe the “refined” palette, or maybe New Yorkers just love paying more for their pints. What do we really think is driving this trend? #NYCHappyHour #BeverageTrends #DataInsights #Hospitality

W's in-house F&B expert Beccy Smith chats about how it’s an exciting month for guessing what drinks brands are planning on for the year ahead. ? “Now Dry Jan is over, and payday has graced our accounts, the nation breathes a sigh of relief by grabbing the nearest bottle of wine. And in February, excitement for the new year really starts to kick in. Beyond pubs filling up, restaurants picking up bookings, and people ready to leave the confines of their sofa, we look forward brands coming out of their hibernation, as we often see campaign work starting to bubble ahead of summer months. In terms of trends, I think we're going to see an interesting dichotomy happening; tequila, a stronger alcohol, will keep booming in popularity, as evidenced by the Telegraph piece below, but we'll also see non-alcoholic take on even more shelf and bar space. We're also going to see celebrity drinks brands take over our feeds even more so in 2024. Timothée Chalamet mezcal anyone? Stranger things have happened..." https://lnkd.in/eKPa_s2j.
