Acuity is proud to celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth and share our employees' voices, stories, and experiences throughout March. Today, we're proud to highlight Sade Jayaprasad, Project Manager: Describe your role at Acuity: I work on various projects that introduce new technologies, which lead to process and workflow changes, and I manage these from end to end. I help consult and advise on technical specifications from inception to go-live and beyond. I work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the right decision makers and teams are collaborating, to cocreate and sustain the success of a project. My activities include translating client and business needs into tangible requirements that are actionable by our technical teams. What do you like most about your job and/or working for Acuity? At Acuity I get to do what I enjoy the most which is learning, problem solving and being part of a successful team. I constantly look to learn as much as I can. I am passionate about sharing that knowledge with others around me. I also really enjoy working with a diverse thinking team that brings a lot to the table every day! What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Gaming, reading, and drawing. Do you have a female role model in your life? How does she inspire you? My strategic management teacher at university is one of my role models. She strived to be the best even though there was a gender bias and negative stereotypes that women teaching those subjects weren’t qualified to do so. For me seeing is believing, and seeing her lead by example inspires me to continuously improve. She still influences me to seek information, ask tough questions, succeed on my own terms, and challenge the status quo. What does Women’s History Month mean to you? It’s a celebration of our collective and individual contributions to our cultures, economy, family, and society. It’s a time to also celebrate all the people in our lives that have supported and encouraged us to reach our successes. It’s a chance to empower young minds to advocate for what they believe in, remember how far we have come, where we can go and to persevere to move the ball forward.

Ya'll I can't keep it together. I can't believe we *did this*! Creating this community has been the absolute highlight of my year and of my life. How could we possibly capture all the magic of the Culture Impact Lab 2024: a Call for Culture experience??Well, we think we did a pretty good job in this fresh off the press re-cap video of our inaugural gathering! The Culture Impact Lab is a beacon of empowerment, a crucible for mobilizing our collective strength to build a better world and better world of work through community leadership and culture building. It is designed to unite and be a refuge (community member Victor Villanueva described this beautifully!) for social impact leaders (industry and sector agnostic) called to reimagine the role of work in society - advancing collective liberation, connecting to our shared humanity, and progressing a more equitable and just future for all. Every workplace can turn into a social enterprise that has a powerful impact on their communities and beyond. We: - Re-focus and retreat to our purpose, vision, and values alignment - Re-energize and connect in with a highly committed and passionate community of changemakers - Immerse ourselves and hold space for learning through immersions that cross pollinate ideas and innovation - Dare to unlearn, engage in healthy and supportive discourse, inspiration, and knowledge from one another As we envision a brighter future for our world and workplaces, the Culture Impact Lab becomes a living blueprint for our actions - a Community of Practice. Moderating my first panel for our Ladies of the Lab series was such a rewarding experience! We gathered incredible women from across the Alloy Labs ecosystem to discuss the impact and development of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in their organizations. I’m thrilled to share a few of the key takeaways from our conversation: ?? Start with Purpose: Our panelists, Jennifer Raynor, Donna Waltz-Jaskolski, & Kathleen Brenk, SPHR (she/her) emphasized that ERGs thrive when they’re grounded in a clear purpose. Whether it’s mentorship, DEI initiatives, or community engagement, aligning ERGs with business goals builds a stronger case for their value. ?? Engagement is Everything: From family leave initiatives ?? to virtual coffee chats, keeping employees engaged and feeling connected is vital. Panelists shared creative ways they’re encouraging attendance and participation in both in-person and virtual events. ?? Building Safe Spaces: Smaller groups, cohorts, and mentorship within ERGs help foster a culture of trust and personal growth. A sense of community within the workplace is essential to employee well-being and retention. ERGs have an incredible power to shape workplace culture, and I’m grateful for the insights shared by these leaders. Can’t wait to see where these initiatives go next!

Our best work is contextual to the ups and downs of life. The top row is Hattie at her best. These are her strengths, energy givers and ingredients of the dream work day. The bottom row is also Hattie. The bottom row doesn't change the top. BUT, how we need to show up to enable the top row is different. WorkPossible* is exploring our dream days at work and, how we're enabled to do our best work. There's a really, important nuance that we need to talk about... our best work is human. Our best work isn't just enabled (or hindered) by our work environment, it's contextual to our lives. And that context doesn't have to be an extreme - or unhappy - example like cancer. Our best work will look different through all our big and small moments. Our needs will be different. As organisations, we need to flex our employee experience to meet those needs. ?? Understanding the incredible power of appreciation and a day of feeling appreciated at this week's #RGERSummit ?? ??"Unify 'People People' and 'Numbers People' behind a common mission". Nick Burns, Reward Gateway's CEO summed this up beautifully for me. Neuroscience data and commercial data should absolutely work in tandem to create value for our People and our businesses. The #RGERSummit hosted over 1200 People professionals and you could almost reach out and touch the passion and enthusiasm for what we collectively deliver for our organisations. It was amazing to experience that feeling of energy and inspiration ?? We received information, innovative products and ideas, as well as our very own immersive experience, to take back and support the development of the end-to-end People Experience in each of our organisations ? And Rob Boland updated us on how Reward Gateway are staying two steps ahead of the competition, which helps me to do the same for Correla ?? It was also brilliant, for Dean Price, Monica I., Julia Taylor (Gray) and me to meet the wonderful Avi Raykova and Alex Lilov, in person and thank them for their consistently amazing help and support ?? Personal takeaways: ?? Economic Value Study (Employee Engagement) - fabulous! ?? Power of neuroscience and how it shapes the People Experience ?? Hierarchy of People needs pyramid - for people needs and delighters ?? Actionable hints and tips on EVP and creating business value ?? Did I tell you that when it hits 10 years, I am closing down Opposite?! So get in now folks for some workplace improvements! ?? Just kidding, of course. Officially working on the year of the decade from this point forward! Nine Opposite trivia points: 1. Year 1 in 2015, I didn't even have a home office and was running the business on my bed. 2. A lot of our ideas have a tongue and cheek Seinfeld references: The Opposite, It's About Nothing (our podcast) 3. Since 2015, 10 staff babies were born 4. We've gone from basic reports and workshops in Year 1 to: large scale capability programs, SharePoint development, animations, e-learning, and digital tools. 5. We have won two grants. 6. Our clients have nominated us for about four awards. 7. We've supervised about 20 placement students from Deakin University and RMIT University 8. We have worked on every major Victorian transport infrastructure project in recent history. 9. We want to work with you! *subtle hint* ??
